Some of my favorite people {and yours truly} went to see one of our favorite authors this last Friday. She just so happened to be in Atlanta, doing a book signing, so we all decided to put on our stalky mc stalkerpants and go say hello.
Shaunna, of Perfectly Imperfect, Rhoda of Southern Hospitality and Layla of The Lettered Cottage all met at my place. We’re all Alabama gals, and I kind of lucked out in being the central locale. Technically, it was a book signing, so, we weren’t really being stalkers. (even if I do light candles, put on a red wig at night and whisper recipes to Jamin to Marlboro Man…what? I mean, first it was vampires and now it’s (real life) cowboys… But isn’t it fun to say Stalky Mc Stalkerpants?)

The sequence of these photos may or may not be a true representation of how our trip progressed…we may have all been a little punchy when we arrived back home, late that night… safe and sound. And side note to Myra...if you are reading this, please know you were truly missed

And since it was in Atlanta, of course we hit up Ikea. And to say we were super excited about their products is probably the understatement of the century. Four home bloggers + massive store of design = definite freakout session

I only needed two more baskets for the kitchen, so it was perfect timing, since I had just purchased a gazillion things two weeks earlier. Shaunna had been cleverly plotting with her list, as well.
We were holding on for dear life on the freaky escalator. But we had a blast perusing. Only, when we got to the actual book signing two hours before the actual time, all proud of ourselves for being prepared, we realized, much to our dismay, that they were handing out letters for groups in waiting. And that we should’ve probably researched a little…

because they started with the letter A.
MEH. At least we weren’t Z?

So we waited for a while.
had some serious bonding in the meantime.
and met some super sweet gals! {So nice meeting you, Erika!}

Rhoda had quite the eye for some fabulous book titles. I almost bought this one.
And then, it was our turn.

Ree is kind of a big deal. The line to see her wound in and out of the bookshelves, since quite the rage, she is.
It doesn’t take five seconds of talking to her, to see why.
She was super sweet, and acted as though she had all the time in the world to talk to us. If you ever get a chance to meet her, don’t pass it up. You won’t regret it. And can I just say that I’m already half way through her book? Seriously can’t put it down. I’m having some serious work ethic issues over here. It’s just that JUI-SAY! If you’re looking for a great true story romance, I totally recommend.
Swoonage.
Anyway, we all had a blast! Be sure to check back this week for a few really fun posts we have in store for you!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Soooo jealous!!! Love PW! I wanted to take a road trip to Atlanta to see her too, but none of my friends could make it. And somehow I missed that she was coming to Birmingham until the night she was here and I saw a friend post it on fb. So I missed both my chances to meet her. So sad ;( Hopefully I will get another chance!
Looks like you girls had lots of fun! WIsh I had a blog so I could join the club….I already meet the Alabama requirement
I WANNA DO IT AGAIN!!!!! So fun!
(But this time I'll wear a t-shirt, instead of a sweater, so my body temperature stays below 100 degrees! LOL)
