a few of my favorite {spoonflower} finds

Lately, I’ve received a few questions from some of you, asking where and how I got this fabric. And lately, fabric has been on mah brain. You see, I’ve decided I’m having that fabulous Duncan Phyfe find recovered in my own fabric. I’m close, with no cigar in that process…read: back to the drawing board with that one in Ashley design world…

But I realized in this entire thought process,

That some of you may not know about the incredible invention that is spoonflower.

Oh. My. Welcome to yet another time suck. Brought to you today by yours truly.

{Look at sweet maloney boy! I can’t believe how big he is. Kinda makes my heart ache a little. Time for another! WHAT?!}

So for a little eye candy today, I thought I’d round up some of my fave Spoonflower finds.

Just for you.

Um, yes please. via

Spoonflower is a wonderful place, where you can create your own fabric, or purchase some created by other artists.

Bubye, to the trade nonsense.

Hello, beautiful design for all.

Spoonflower can be a little pricey, if you’re anything like me and love some majorly discounted fabric. But I consider it worth every penny, to have my own unique designs. So it’s a trade off. But it doesn’t compare in pricing to some other fancy shmancy 100/yard aka let-me-sell-my-soul-outrageous-prices.

Adorable anything. via

A funky wallet or bag…via

Get on my sofa. via

You, too. via

And oh wait. I LOVE this one! via

What a sweet little dress this would make for your little one…or the cutest mommy’s helper apron…via

My little men are written all over this….via

How adorable is this finger puppet for you to create with your kids? via

Airplane love. via

I almost passed out when I saw this. I love these two combined…and they have this incredible vintage feel. ADORE. via

Im making a football analogy here, so please know I adore houndstooth and think its the bees knees. But round these here parts, an Auburn gal feels like she can’t really get away with any houndstooth for fear she might send out the wrong message.(Alabama is epitomized by houndstooth!) But I just may get away with it in green…which gives me an idea for fall…via muahahahahaha.

Are you in love yet? via

wait for it…wait for it….

It comes in yellow, too. via

There are no words to describe the level of incredible cuteness that is this ice cream summer fun. via

Paisley is suddenly wonderful again. via

Makes me crave some cold fruity goodness. via

This would make a super cool summer top. via

I can’t show this to Aiden. He’ll be all over it. via

I want this in the form of a shower curtain. via

Yet another adorable apron. via

Of course, to answer your original questions, you can find some of my older spoonflower creations, here. I realized I’d taken about a year hiatus from creating anything new, so I’m excited about getting back to it!

May you all have a fun, relaxing, inspired, creative weekend!

I have to know where you purchased the green/pink “rabbit”? Not really sure if that is what it is but I would love to have one. Or did you make it? If so, I really need the tutorial!! Thanks! Love your blog – an everyday read for me!!

  2. That paisley fabric is calling my name for my daughter’s room! Also, love the ice cream & the dragons. I found spoonflower through your site back in Jan. and I’ve been lovin’ it ever since!! :) :) Oh, and happy almost summer!

P.S. I am not allowed any red in the house whatsoever b/c hubby hates Georgia. Fine by me – red isn’t really my color. However, hubs doesn’t want the kids dressed in red either – talk about ridiculous. Hellooo, Christmas?!

How does Houndstooth “send out the wrong message”? I’ve been planning on re-covering two wingbacks in black-and-white Houndstooth… Am I destined for failure?

    • Haha no! Not at all! ;) that was a football reference for us southern folk. The au v. al rivalry is one that entails houndstooth. And I am for the other team. I love houndstooth so this is tragic. My statement in sending the wrong message was in reference to looking like I was a bama fan, when I am in fact an Auburn one. ;) I say go for it!

how many yards of fabric do you need to do a shower curtain?

  5. What’s so bad about houndstooth? I love the blue and yellow fabric underneath it.. I might have to do something with those.

How does spoonflower work? Is it graphic designs or sketches? I would love to make some prints that I just cant find to make bags. Any spoonflower tips?

Wow. Someone lock up my charge cards now you gave us all those samples! But you know, even the best decorating tips don’t hold a candle to that darling little bitty swaddled Malone in his space alien- gaze stage. Ooooooo, I can just about smell his little baby-smell!

What a great concept! I haven’t had time to read up on Spoonflower, but plan to do so today. And I know what you mean about the houndstooth. I bought a black houndstooth diaper bag with a blue monogram (instead of red for the very purpose that you are speaking of) and caught constant grief about it. I finally just bought another bag…

  9. Emily Johnson says:

Totally feel ya on the houndstooth. I’ve found some of the cutest outfits and home accessories in houndstooth, but I just can’t bring myself to do it…especially considering I’m in a mixed marriage {i.e. hubs is a Bama fan}. LOVE all of this fabric.

I love these selections! I think my favorite is, I mean I know, my favorite is the dragons!!! Very cool! I’ve never ordered from spoonflower, but they do have some great fabrics!
