the blue room + a linky partay!

The first half of this week, brought to you by yours truly, will be inflamed with massive doses of eye candy. Since I can’t decide if that’s a good thing or not, I used the word ‘inflamed,’ like it has the potential to be a dangerous, itchy rash in an embarrassing place. So let’s get started, shall we?

I love this space. And this fabric. MMMMMM. And I can’t find the source to save my soul, so someone please send me in the right direction?

I think its important to constantly study the use of color in spaces, as well as the elements with color, that compose a space. Color, as you probably well know, is the most important element to me, in a space. But I think that we have it ingrained within us, to be drawn to one color in particular. That’s why we all have a “favorite color,” isn’t it?

this entire entry is drool worthy. I suggest you here and read it now. But I’m naturally drawn to soft, serene hues. The metallic poufs are rocking my world.

I can rattle off about five colors I’m drawn to. Repeatedly. If you’ve been reading this blog for two days, you can probably tell me what they are. But my number one color? blue.

Whether it’s pops of bold…

in shots of subtle…Or a space that’s beautifully engulfed.{One of my favorite spaces with masculine lines and feminine details: via decorpad via Emily Henderson}

I’m like a moth to a flame. I can’t control myself.

{Can I have those ceiling lights?}

I think it can be about any hue. From Aqua to peacock to periwinkle to cobalt to teal to a green/blue, to the end of the spectrum and back again…I just can’t help myself.

blue is such a versatile color. but then again, aren’t they all?I guess that’s why there’s color theory, psychology, and art therapy. That’s why colors can make or break a space. That’s why their combination in new and fresh ways are so intriguing to me.

So here’s a little game I want to play:

I was thinking that next TUESDAY, {the 26th} ONE week from today, we can have a LINKY PARTAY! I know. Hold the phone. I don’t have linky parties often, {ever.} Admittedly, I think I’m always kind of the nerdy kid who wants to invite some friends over to play, and she’s scared that people will have to wash their hair… and stuff. ;)

So here’s the deal: A blog about color in your home. It can be a past blog, it can be one you haven’t created yet. It can be about what you love in your home in terms of color, it can be about what you want to change with color. It can be the color schemes. It can be inspiration, it can be pieces used to infuse color throughout your home. The possibilities are endless. Get creative, and make it about color. For instance: mine will probably be all about blue, and how I’ve managed to weasel it into each space for my home. It may be just an up close look at patterns and texture. But about color is the only requirement. I’ll be featuring my fave ones that following Friday! {the 29th}

I may continue these as a series, if you guys are game! Do you think this would be a fun one? I certainly do! Please let know in the comments section if you’re up for it. If no one replies…I shant be having it. {Yes, I did just write shant. That may or may not be why no one will want to play…}

Let me see your true colors!

    I like the idea of any colors since I don’t just decorate with one color through out my house. It’s a bit of a hodge podge. Now to decide between my yellow kitchen or my pink bedroom (work in progress for both of them). lol See you next Tuesday.

    • Lisa says:

      I would love to see your pink bedroom!!!! I have some pink stuff in my bedroom but havent painted yet and need a few ideas!!!!!

  18. New to blogging and a new follower. I have been putting together glimpses of my home and perhaps I shall be able to share that..would love to participate! Either way, I am looking forward to reading all; love color!
