I had two pretty blue glazed ceramic outdoor planters and two not so pretty plastic planters that I wanted to use on our patio this summer. I bought blue spray paint to match the ceramic planters and sprayed the plastic ones. Even though the plastic planters are a different shape, they all looked amazing together filled with colorful plants on the patio. I've been looking around for more stuff to spray paint since then.

I recently spray painted a $4 thrift store lamp for my nursery makeover. It started out a really sad mustardy yellow color with some 70's-esque detail on it. It is now a high gloss cherry red and totally pops against all the navy, pale blue and cream furnishings in the room. I didn't prime first but definitely will next time as if you look closely you can see the detail through the red paint. No biggie! I'm going to spray paint a wash tub to match and use it as a laundry basket. I'm convinced that spray paint is the answer to creating a beautiful, colorful home that you'll love without spending a lot money. :)
