dear pinterest.

Dear Pinterest,

Thanks for helping me survive this holidaisical season. Somehow, I mustered up the energy to try out some of these fabulous finds and take it to the next level in the partay department. Even though I was so completely frazzled, that I think I actually wandered out of the house donning sweatpants yesterday. I’m basically one step away from an intervention a-la Stacy from What Not to Wear. You know, the kind where she video tapes my butt looking all awkward from behind while I pick a wedgie, then shows it to my friends and fam in a big awkward reveal….and makes me cry by telling me my Target boots from last year are so 2011…

But that’s beside the point. Because all my friends, teachers and other randos in general (who I sometimes think might be judging me) actually think I’m creative and stuff. Really, I’m just a big poser.Everyone wins! So, a big fat thank you, to you, oh muy brilliante creators of pinterest. May you live long, prosper, and give me lots of ideas so I can continue to barely get by shine at awkward holiday soirees. Love, one seriously deliriously exhausted mom.

Exhibit a: So what if I’m slightly unoriginal and got all the teachers a Starbucks giftcard? Who doesn’t like Starbucks? We had 6 preschool teachers this year. At least my presentation earned an A with a blatant nod to obvious simplicity. {Cue cheesy wink and teeth sparkles} Thanks, pinterest.

Exhibit b: Best. Sausage balls. Ever. Try adding cream cheese to the mix. You’ll never go back. And if you bake the wrong kind at your house, I’ll boycott. Just sayin. Thanks, Pinterest.

Exhibit c: Sure, they went a little like this…

But it counts. I tried. And now everyone will think I’m awesome.

Even if it is at failing.

Meh.

Cheers to Pinterest…all of you incredible people….and surviving that last week before the craziness is over and we can actually rest! ;}

  5. I knitted 5 cowls for teachers gifts. My hands are tired. I need to get some ideas for the kids while we are on Christmas break.

thanks, I needed to commiserate with someone this morning. Working 14 hours a day for the last couple weeks as made me a failure at everything else. At least you tried the cookie monster cupcakes (which made me laugh out loud!) I barely get dinner on the table :)

Love the sausage ball tip! Here’s another one. Vegetarian sausage will *not* work for those suckers. Do not try that one at home. ;)

LOVE THIS – I KNOW people LOVE Pinterest but it just makes me feel like I am, yet again, failing at keeping up with the Jones.

  13. Dorothy says:

  14. Christine says:

    I am laughing out loud!

  15. Funny funny funny! My neighbors see me in my ratty sweatpants and tshirt until about 2pm everyday. I’m sure they think I’m the laziest woman on the planet! In reality, all the sewing and crafting and chasing of children that goes on here keeps me from the shower till mid afternoon most days. Alas. Oh, and I have last year’s boots from Tarjay, too!

  16. jenni Horne says:

As a teacher myself I love any gift placed gently on my desk!! Especially food…those cookie monster cakes made me giggle, but I so would have eaten one. I suppose being the art teacher I have a deeper appreciation for the handmade goodness!

Oh, and girl if the target boots are the ones with the red zipper up the back I am in envy mode. I so missed the boat on those!

  17. Tonya says:

I can so relate to this! People tell me all the time how creative I am when in reality I’m just really good at surfing the internet!

  18. Becky says:

Wow! I am laughing out loud. Love your sense of humor… “nailed it”… awesome!

  19. Becky says:

    Oh and Happy Holidays!
