It sneaks up on me, every year.
I have no idea why… it just does. I know its coming. Just like it does every year. And I have great ideas in my head… and then here it is. Right smack in the middle of May. I’m writing this post now, but I tell you the truth, it will still. Sneak. Up. On. Me. I have no idea why I have this huge deficit when it comes to keeping up with actual dates. But I’m definitely that daughter.
I tend to overthink and then be all tardy and stuff with my gift giving. That’s me. The perpetually tardy gift giver. Wish me luck, y’all.
So in honor of Mother’s Day and all you fabulous people everywhere, I thought I’d provide a happy little round up of super fun ideas – for purchase or a handmade twist… from the big {maybe group?} purchases to sweet lovely finds… Hoping you find a little inspiration here to give to that precious person in your life. Without further ado:
1. How adorable is this idea? A picnic for two! I die twice. You can totally piece one together yourself, or purchase one here.
2. Just the cutest measuring cups, ever for one who loves to cook. I would actually leave these out on on the counter or in an open shelf.
3. I featured this one last year, but absolutely love this version as well. You could get a fun print and put it in a fancy frame from any craft store for an instant quirky print for around the home! I mean, who doesn’t love that quote?
4. Because I’m forever obsessed with stripes as my go-to pattern, they never go out of style, and turkish towels are my fave. These images originally from here {you can find them in a variety of places around the www. From Etsy to specialty stores – so shop around for the best prices} Such a super thoughtful gift with endless possibilities from hand towels to big towels galore.
5. Because who doesn’t want a tassel necklace? Though a diy version is totally doable, too…Hmmm have you seen the Nester’s Ebook on Tassels? I think I need one for meself.
6. My mom might actually laugh at me if I gave her these, and your mom might already have them…and I don’t know about you guys, but I would love them! {Image originally from flickr}
7. I’ve been wanting a cart like this forever for multiple reasons. I’m in love with this one. Maybe I’ll buy it for myself… ;} It would be perfect to hold just about anything. A fun group gift! Random? Maybe. Endless possibilities? Absolutely. Maybe I just included this because I want one…
8. In the days of shower gels, I kind of crave handmade soaps, and think I may try my hand at some, soon. These would make excellent, one-of-a-kind gifts.
9. A great idea for some handmade love – directions from Martha Stewart, here.
10. Heavenly scents always calm the nerves at the end of a crazy day.
11. Maybe not for everyone. But maybe if she loses her rings all the time when she’s cleaning/washing/working/gardening/younameit. I may or may not be guilty…
12. Yes. Just, yes. Wait… who am I shopping for again?
Hope you guys find some inspiring ideas here… or maybe even a little happy to drop hints for yourself? Moms or not! I’m the shop-for-myself-and-thank-him-later kind… he doesn’t mind… it’s how we roll. ;}

I am so with you on the #6 pyrex bowls. I have one orange one that was my grandmother’s and I would LOVE to have more. If it breaks, I might cry. Those are the best bowls ever. I think the company needs to bring them back. 🙂

I love the handmade soaps idea. That wouldn’t be your run of the mill bouquet of flowers by any stretch. Some very cool ideas.
