Remember this post here?
It’s the story of our sweet friends Brooke and Brian who are going through a complete overhaul of almost half of their home. {—Kitchen redo of all redos, part deux}
Let’s all pause for a second in case you forgot… or need to go back and read.
We’ll still be here. And let’s all take a moment to admire how cute Como is. {Photography by Brian}
And how cute they are… Remember now?
I talked about my dorkdom days and showed you a roach poo covered prom pic, in case you forgot. {I know. It’s a total shocker that I had dorkdom days – but we go way back.}

Plans changed, as they often do. And what we love, is how they’re rolling with it in working with the existing footprint of the house.
Can we also add that we love how fearlessly they’re doing said rolling with it? These guys are officially camping out in their house. That’s not easy. Fearlessness in overhauls are a rare find. I think they need a fearless sticker or club induction or something. Because they’re amazing. They need T-shirts.
So here’s the home’s existing floor plan:
And what they chose to go with:
And one of the most gratifying parts of any overhaul process: DEMO DAY HAS BEGUN! {Read that in your best Oprah voice. YOU ALL GET DEEEMMMOOOO DDDAAAAYYYYSSS!!!!}
So here’s a little bit of the kitchen before:
And in the process…
Byyyyyeeeee Felicia!
I mean, right? LOVE it.
Cue angel choir voices in perfect unison: AHHHHHHHHHH!
This was their former sitting room, and will expand to part of their kitchen, so the walls had to go.
See ya, walls. Their house is going to feel huge with this much gone.
Their mantel before… {Which will become a part of their kitchen}
And their mantel after… {as part of their kitchen expansion… I love how these little fireplaces/chimneys keep revealing nasty little surprises.}
EW.
So far, no stashed cash. At least not that they’re sharing with us. {DANGIT.}
But they are finding delightful little surprises like this. I can’t tell you how badly I wanted to salvage our mold covered linoleum. But alas, it wasn’t budging. Do people reclaim Linoleum? Because this little surprise is a beaut. Definitely my favorite part about demoing a house… all the glorious patterns you can find.
Their sitting room before…
And how it looks now…
Seriously though those picture windows are the best.
I kind of like their fireplace better now. She should leave it like this for that shabby look. ;} I kid. But really. It is kind of interesting. Like something you might find in anthro.
And their former music room which will be changed to hold a new walk through utility. Along with their powder room which will also move.
And there ya have it… progressssssssss! Nothing makes us happier.
So many exciting things on the horizon… after waiting for so long!
If you thought the before was charming, keep the end in sight, people! Another walk down memory lane with a little of this…
And these pulls!
Eyes on the prize, suckas. NAMA-STTTAY. Deep breaths. #notwilliamsoncounty #progress
Speaking of, HOPEFULLY, you’ll get an update with LOTS of progress on our own home really soon. It’s just completely amazing how one little approval sticker can totally rock your day. We had one last week so here’s to hoping. I’m ready to crawl out of the fetal position/stop eating all my feelings.
Have an inspired day!
