If you guys remember about a month a go, we took off, and had a blast in NYC.
At least, when we finally met up with the wonderful people at Swiffer, we did. ;} It was quite the adventure, either way.
It was just what we needed to take a break from all things house chaos and getting settled… to drop it all, fly away, and just feel normal for a bit.
They’ve left a few of those amazing green boxes at our door, and through the chaos of it all, I can honestly say their products have helped bring some major comfort and sanity to our situation.
Like take a deep breath, break out their product and get it done, kinda sanity. Not only in renovating a house, but every day low maintenance cleaning… everyone can use that. We’re all just living life while trying to keep our homes manageable, after all.
So we were honored to join a team of bloggers who flew in from all around the country {and beyond} to learn more about Swiffer, some of their new products, along with the awesome things they do.
They literally cleaned up NYC. And took us on a fun, whirlwind of a tour of sorts, as they did. I even changed our of my yoga pants for a bit, and cleaned the paint off my fingers… that alone is an exciting thing.
First stop: The amazing Soho Grand.
Where we feel like we took a bit of a crash course of all things Swiffer in an immersion course.
What puts Swiffer ahead of the rest, what makes them different… and what they have coming soon.
It was quite an education. For instance: Did you know that if you put a Swiffer Duster in a mason jar after using it, and then shake it around, it has minimal to zero dust clouds as a result? If you compare it with the usual off brands… they end up looking like Pig-Pen from Peanuts. This was kind of impressive, especially for my allergy-ridden family.
And did you know that the swiffer wet jet doesn’t leave streaks on floors, because they’ve enhanced their technology?
Or that they aren’t dangerous to household pets? {That one is a myth}.
And they use cutting edge technology and awesome gels to make the Swiffer so absorbent?
We felt like we learned so much, and were so impressed with the steps they’re taking to enhance their products.
And after the Immersion course, it was off to see a little behind-the-scenes in NYC.
The one with Good Housekeeping
First stop: The Good Housekeeping Institute. It was so neat to learn all about how they rigorously test all their products. If something earns the GoodHousekeeping seal of approval, they’ve really earned it. Of course, Swiffer has.
It was fascinating to learn about their behind the scenes process, as well as see their building and offices. The offices were changed after an add on, and you can see the original structure outside, along with the new addition in skyscraper form added on to the inside.
This is just an example of some of their kitchen products, where they endlessly test all the things.
The one where we danced with the Rockettes.
We have to say, it was kind of amazing. I’m pretty sure the awesome people at Swiffer finagled this one, and we’re so glad we did. Because we actually learned a routine with them and practiced. If I lived there, I would take their classes every day just for the workout.
Yes, please.
Also, God wasn’t fair when he handed out bodies. I’m feeling a little shorted.
See what I did there?
But they were the sweetest. And we loved hearing all about what they do.
The one where we decorated a cake with Cake Boss
Then, our cake baking skills were put to the test at Cake Boss headquarters. Not so much baking, but definitely decorating. This is where the show is filmed, and we had so much fun tackling it head on.
We all broke into teams, and were asked to work together to decorate cakes that accurately represented swiffer.
The pressure was on.
Meanwhile in Jamin world…
I have no idea what he was doing, but I keep finding these photos taken by the awesome Swiffer people. And this pretty much captures Jamin.
He was clearly amused.
Yes, he was still going.
And our team won! I know, right? WHAT?!
From left to right: Live Laugh Rowe, The Mom Creative, Lolly Jane {and fabulous friend JoDell} + us {in between Lolly + friend}. Apparently, we’re like the dream team or something.
I have no idea how. But we did. I’m pretty sure I was the weakest link. ;}
When we were finished, half of the competition was cleaning our huge messes! They supplied swiffer, of course. And Carlo’s Bake Shop had the cleanest floors in NYC.
The one with NYC Foster Dogs
People ask us all the time how we keep our home so clean with two dogs. And while installing our hardwoods right now, our subs are all, “You’re bringing your dogs in here?” {Cue the side eye hard core} We’ll have more on that, later.
Cue my own side eye at the suggestion that they not be inside. Because it does take more work, but it’s manageable with the right attitude and tools. We loved visiting the local shelter, and seeing so many sweet pups so well cared for. As animal lovers, especially shelter dog lovers, that’s important to us. They manage all that mess and fluff with Swiffer Products, and that totally makes it doable. We love anything with a good cause and were so happy to visit and help clean!
We had a blast with Swiffer, and are still in awe at the fun things we were able to do.
Stay tuned for more fun things coming up with the amazing Swiffer!
We wanna know – what’s your favorite swiffer product/method of use and why? We love new cleaning ideas!
Until next time… have an inspired day!

I’ve never owned a Swiffer product. I need to give that a try. It sounds like ya (I’m a Texas) had such a good time in NY. I also get Diane’s emails from her My Own Style blog and you and her were in a couple of pictures together with the Rockettes. How FUN!
