Our story:

Everyone has their own story. But for a very long time, The Handmade Home was simply a mom blog. A place where I shared with long distance friends and family our fun adventures in raising our children. And I loved it. But we found that the more we shared our projects and crazy ideas for around the house, the more people could use as as a resource. We were genuinely surprised that people were using our site as a place for ideas, inspiration, and maybe even a place to feel better. {Who doesn’t want to know that someones child ALSO endlessly co-sleeps in their bed? And that the laundry ends up in piles, hidden in our closet, while we redo our children’s spaces? We’re all doing our very best, in this crazy place called parenting, and running a home, after all.}

Our readership is made up of fabulous men and women who have the gusto to go after what they want, while balancing the ever precarious challenges of raising a family. Our readers relate, and have become a loyal base of wonderful people interested in fun, DIY projects, and a creative outlet for inspiration in their own homes. These awesome people cover a broad spectrum, whether they’re the single male wanting to figure out a few how-to’s for around the home, or the married mother with five grandchildren and counting…

Since this past year, what we absolutely love, has evolved into a place where we share and are completely inspired by others. Simple ideas, inspiration, our love for design, and continued adventures in raising a family, is what we are. A place where ideas are shared, and the honest truth of the regular mess and fun that is our home…is par for the course with us. Creating a haven for the every day.

We were featured on The Nate Show, {Oct. 4th!} and have an upcoming feature in Cottages and Bungalows Magazine as well as the Living at Home Magazine. We are also a writing our own e-book to be released…. well when things slow down and we can finish it. We have been {VERY humbly} featured by some wonderful and awesome sites. We are growing rapidly, with over 145,000 visitors per month and page views currently at over 345,000 per month(not including RSS feed and email subscribers). Other than the honest fact that we’re only doing what we’re passionate about, we have many more exciting opportunities coming up that will only continue to ensure our growth.
