In organizing our new cabbies for the kitchen, I decided to do a small area of spice jars with sprinkles. Why, you may ask? We have a birthday tradition around here. That has now turned into an un-birthday tradition.
Pancakes with sprinkles on their special day. Which really turn into runny gooey muddy colors of mess, while our children ingest dye and straight oh-so-fabulous sugar.
Sue me.
But this grand family birthday tradition has evolved into once every two weeks. Every now and again, these pancakes with sprinkles are making their grand and eagerly anticipated appearance, complete with candles and the birthday song. Each child gets a sprinkled pancake. And a candle. And a song. Even though it’s no one’s “special” day. Because it’s everyone’s special day.
It’s a fun family tradition. And they love it. And they were SUPER pumped about the spice jars with said sprinkles. Emmy, in particular, over the pink ones. 😉 They oogle over them every time they pass.
Because it’s definitely all about the little things, round here.
What’s something fun you do with your family?
