Updated: congratulations to our winners: Brooke, Lillian and Mary Lauren! Check your emails soon!
So raise your hand: who else let the 4th of July sneak up on them? I’ll be honest…Jamin has been out of town, and between laundry, the kids, and a little work sprinkled in, I certainly did! I know. Shame on me. But I have a bit of a weakness for stars and stripes in my every day decor. So as a nod to the every day infusion of a little patriotic spirit, I thought I’d round up a few of my fave theme-my ideas….For red + navy, stars + stripes, home style, fashion…and a little of the in between.
1. This DIY garland {inspired by the fabulous West Elm} isn’t just for christmas ideas.
2. I love a striped rug in a room and navy is certainly a handsome addition. If you can’t find just the right shade…paint one!
3. I adore this striped dresser, by the talented Barb of Knack.
4. + 6. Every gal needs a navy blue dress with red shoes. I’d love to see this paired with a red belt…and this bag (though not really fitting in with the ‘theme’) would look awesome with all of it.
5. Perfect for a party: simple cookie cutters turn any ordinary watermelon into extraordinary fun. And I love the idea for this simple bag of candy as a party favor!
7. This pillow is perfect for any every day decor…and would be fabulous eye candy for that special day.
8. I adore Jamali Garden. And I especially adore their lanterns. These mercury glass star lanterns are right up my alley-party or no.
9. Tufting + navy. Need I say more?
10. I must say, I don’t cave and purchase things often, but this is one product we absolutely adore. The boy’s quilt that we keep in their room from Pottery Barn, is perfect for any day of the year. It becomes especially patriotic when we watch the fireworks on them every year. Nothing beats a good quilt.
So what do you guys have planned for the fourth? I think watermelon, barbecue, and a little rest are on the radar for us.
…Which brings us to our giveaway! If you have any DIY plans soon {aka building a hideaway of your own} we’re giving away three super fabulous Flood products to three lucky winners, that would certainly help you complete it! Ashley,
I just read your post about The Well. I think my husband can help your brother. He has been in the coffee business in Nashville for 20 years. He has a company that installs and services espresso and coffee equipment. There is a great deal of upkeep involved with these machines, as you may imagine. He said he would be willing to help your brother free of charge. He does a lot of work for the big chain coffee shops so he is in the West Nashville/Green Hills area a lot anyway. Email us if you would like any more info.
Happy Fourth!
Jill

I loved reading about your awesome fort. We just rescued a puppy and I need to use lattice to enclose the lower part of the yard so she won’t escape under our high-set fence. Using Flood on the lattice would make it last a long time, especially since it will be so close to the elements.
