So I had these little neglected succulents that really kind of needed a new home. It’s pretty much the only plant that I don’t kill. Usually.
I’m in the middle of my office redo, and would really love to see them there. So we found some plain jane pots & decided to spruce them up for a fun, eclectic vibe.
Here’s how we did it.
We gave them a fresh coat with Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace in eggshell.
And then broke out this super fun pen that we scored at our local craft store.
Side note: The smoother your coat of white with this, the better… I totally couldn’t decide what I wanted to do because apparently I have major commitment issues, so I had about five coats and it got a little gloopy… But I basically started drawing shapes on one side, and filling them in.
In the end? We had these fun little pots in gold and eclectic shapes. We did the same thing with the little pot on the right… only adding polkadots instead of triangles. This gold leafing pen is kind of addictive. Pretty soon, you may see it on my fingernails. And on my children’s faces. Or something.
From plain to pretty… Tada! A fun little accent for my upcoming office! I couldn’t be more thrilled to have a space of my own. It won’t really be my own, because I live in mom world… but we will totally pretend.
Have an inspired day, friends!

Succulents are my new favorite thing in my garden! Love the pretty painted containers too. I can grow things outside but kill everything inside (maybe because it doesn’t rain inside my house and i forget to water!!)

HAHA me too! I forget both. ;{

I go every day here on the blog to view and review all the details.
I am very happy to see beautiful homes, you are a great inspiration.
When my house get pretty cool I’ll show the photos.
Here at home I create projects and my husband runs them, like with you and your husband, lol.
We create our own furniture too.
Thanks for the great inspiration.

I may or may not know what you’re talking about when you mention your propensity for killing plants. I just redid my entire front flower beds. In August. In EAST TEXAS. Because they were so flippin’ ugly I could.not.stand.one.more.person.seeing.them.
Now, whether they survive the scorching, face-melting, plant–murdering heat or not is another story, but so far I have remembered to water them every day, and they look at least marginally not dead. So, we’re calling it a win.
Ahem.
Sorry for the life story.
What I meant to say was: your pots are adorbs, and I will now have to go find a gold leaf pen so I, too, can tattoo my children.
P.S. I big fat love how much color you use. I saw your jewel-toned nursery board the other day and thought, “MMmmmmm hMM.” With a blogosphere so obsessed with white and neutrals (not that they aren’t lovely), I kind of feel like you’re my sistah from another mistah when it comes to color. Aaaaaand, things just got weird so I will stop talking now.

Bwah! Welcome, sister! I am so glad someone else murders plants and tats their children. I may or may not have eventually killed everything in our back yard, and what is still living, I am waiting for it to die, because I have plant guilt, and I’m ready to redo it all as well. (Side note: How’s that for a run on sentence?) You are not alone! ;]
