So without further ado…
Hey, y’all! I’m Lindsay and I’m the girl behind The White Buffalo Styling Co. I feel so happy and blessed to be a new contributor on Ashley’s blog. I’ve followed this blog for years and was so thrilled to have lunch with Ashley one day during the Haven Conference. I love those moments when you meet someone you’ve admired for a while and then realize, “Wow, she’s the exact same person as she is on the blog…and she’s totally awesome!” She’s so great, seriously. Thanks for having me, Ashley!
The White Buffalo Styling Co. is about celebrating each person’s unique style and journey. I fell in love with design at a very young age, but spent years confused about what my personal style was. My husband, Chris, and I just finished renovating our second house. We bought, renovated, and sold our first house this past spring. It really took that entire two and a half year journey to figure out my revolutionary secret to discovering your style.
Wait for it, wait for it….my style is completely defined by my background and who I am as a person. Gasp! Crazy obvious, I know, but this took me years to really break down and accept.
I’m a dreamer. I’m complex, eclectic, and a bit of a hippie. For years, I fought that and tried to be someone else. No wonder I wasn’t very happy with myself or what my house looked like at the time. It wasn’t me! So, now I’m embracing where I come from, who I am today, and styling up a storm.
For starters, I grew up on a farm in a rural, small town and a love of country and rustic is in me to the core.
I love antlers, navajo, rustic woods, and natural elements.
Now, we live in an urban downtown area. Through me becoming a bit more of a city girl, I’ve developed a deep love and appreciation for all things mid-century modern and cool retro.
I love, love, love the color white, hence “The White Buffalo.” In fact, every single room in our house is currently painted white!
For years, I dreamed of a white kitchen with lovely open shelving that could be changed at my every little whim! Like every other room in our house, the decorating is definitely not finished. We need more hardware, an island, and a light fixture, but I’m loving it all the same!
Before I was a blogger and stylist, I was a writer and still have a deep love of the written word. My wall of bookshelves in our living room is one of my favorite spots.
I love having a place to display our pretty books, but like the open shelving in the kitchen, it’s perfect for my ever-changing ideas.
In addition to my country modern loves, my hippie side calls for some major bohemian thrown in the mix as well. I love texture and one of my favorite things in our home is an ottoman that I covered with cheap rag rugs.
For a little extra boho, comfy texture, I layered an old woven blanket and some kilim goodness onto our tufted leather couch.
And one of my favorite places at our house right now is our new outdoor area. As everything else, it’s still in progress, but I’m really enjoying it!
I love the bulb lights overhead. At night, it’s pretty magical out here 🙂 I have a lot of big plans for this place and many ideas for outdoor gatherings.

My love of styling goes beyond my house and into parties as well. I have loved throwing parties since I was a little girl and learned the wonder of a good piece of cake! In the spirit of the season, here are a few of my favorite fall parties we’ve done.
We have several more planned for this year! A fall one, but a Halloween one too, yay!
For me, styling is about so much more than just making things pretty. It’s about celebrating life’s moments and blessings through creating beauty, whether that’s at a special event or a room that our family will enjoy.
Thanks for letting me post, Ashley, and thank you to all of you lovely readers for letting me share our home and my passions with you! There’s a lot of excitement happening right now over at The White Buffalo and it is blowing my mind. I hope you’ll join along on our adventure!
