Remember this post about the House for Hope?
It’s a great house with a great cause.
Our initial post was almost a year ago, {where did the time go?!} and you guys probably think we forgot about it all…
Promise we didn’t. The timeline was extended beyond some of their original plans, and because #septic {it’s a real epidemic here, y’all} but it’s coming along nicely and we’re super excited to be a part of it.
Interior design tastemakers and social media influencers from throughout the Southeast have been selected for the Nashville area’s inaugural House for Hope Designer Show House partnering with builder, Carbine & Associates, with a goal of yielding over $100,000 for children’s charities. Builders of the 2013 Traditional Home magazine house and the HGTV® Smart Home in Nashville, James Carbine, president of Carbine & Associates, said the home event will be one of the first of its kind in the nation and located in a new Williamson County neighborhood, Southern Preserve.
Some of the most creative designers from a four state area are lending their time and talents to this inspirational home tour which will impact the lives of so many young people,” Carbine said. “As part of our company’s 30-year anniversary in building, rather than hosting a big party, we are pleased to be giving back to our community through the nonprofit 501(c)(3), House for Hope Foundation, and for the first time are partnering with a creative team of this caliber.
The other day, we were able to take a sneak peek, and see how all the spaces are coming along. Ours, was the children’s bonus room.
So after we selected the colors, we were thrilled to put our heads together with the sweet people at Carbine and Associates, and design a sweet bunk area.
I mean, don’t all bonus rooms deserve a fun spend-the-night-oasis?
The wall colors are oh so fun, and the ceilings are going to be a pretty, stained shiplap.
We love the amazing built-in feel with lots of functionality.
Here’s where we need you, our fabulous readers for help: We have the pieces we’re bringing into the space with our own donations, and some of the donations of amazingly incredible sponsors. They’ve graciously agreed to be a part of the space.
But we need help filling up these bookshelves.
‘Tis the season to clean out your closets and clutter, and we would love your donations to help a great cause.
While we’re at it, we’d also love to show off how amazing our readers are.
Here’s the deal: We’re taking any and all children’s book donations to help fill these shelves.
And afterwards, all the donations will go to the Hospital Hospitality House of Nashville.
We’d love to see a full circle kind of moment with the help of all of you!
So… board books, golden books, chapter books, I-can-read-books, even vintage books… anything you have, for any stage of reading and any age… we will take.
And gladly so.
We’d love love love your help. Ultimately, we can’t get-er-done without you. The best part? You can send them via media mail!
When you go to the post office, it’s a great, cheap way to send them. Simply request this, and they place them in their own box at the post office for a simple, cheaper rate.
Ask for that at the post office when you go to save a little!

It’s a short deadline, but we will need all books in the mail by January the 31st to have them in time for the space.
We can’t thank you enough for your time and consideration and generous donations for all of this. It’s a great cause and a wonderful chance to give back, as well as getting rid of a few extra books you may have on hand. ;}
We can’t wait to see what we can all come together to come up with. This is such a great cause, and we’re thrilled to make you a part of it, if you can.
Anything helps – if you can, please help spread the word!
Thank you so much for your consideration and time – it truly means so much.
Have an inspired day!

If you contact your local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library affiliate, they may donate some “undeliverable” children’s books to you – these are books that can’t be delivered to the registered recipients because the family has moved, etc. Check the DPIL website to see who your local contractor is – I believe the whole state of TN participates in the program.

Hey Ashley! I just read this post, looking back on posts I may have missed, and I have a big reason now to share the books that are in my attic from my teaching days. I would love to get them your way, this weekend if possible, and I need to check but I believe I can get you two or three boxes of books. I love books so much, but they really need to be in hands of kids to enjoy instead of my attic! So, I live in Hendersonville and my parents are down in Brentwood, so we are all over all the time. Would it be possible to meet you with the boxes, rather than mail them? Too weird? I totally get it if so, but would be happy to get them your way if we can come up with another way. Thanks a bunch for what you are doing!
