NINE years, over 1700 files, and one broken toe later… {that’s another crazy story for another day – yes I was photographing the pages when I broke my pinky toe} I’m relieved/excited/mentally taxed/emotionally exhausted to deliver this labor of love. It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The 2022 planner, with supplements is here, from the handmade home! We were a little slower this year, since we really wanted to put our family first this summer. Thank you so much for being patient with us!

{We put a lot of work into this, but could you help us spread the word this year? The additional ad revenue helps us keep it the price affordable for everyone. So we simply ask you to show a little love by going to this Facebook post and clicking the “share” button and pinning this post. We’d be ever so grateful, friends.}
Just stopping by for the first time? We’re thrilled you’re here! Read more about us, here. Also, before you dive in and get lost in our planner and files, know that we do more here! Make sure to check out our portfolio for client work here + more freebies here.
Yes, I totally DID put on a dress and break out the mirror ball…and hobble out on my broken toe to celebrate.
The biggest change this year is that you can download all the files without the extra clicking! This year, because of the enormous size of this planner and all the work and countless hours that go into it, we are charging a small fee for over 1,000 files. Thank you for understanding that this justifies the time and expense of creating this project. At just $7.99. For 1,787 + files, that’s less than 1/2 cent per file.
We were afraid this might be our last year, and have reached the conclusion that simply can’t keep providing this every year without a little help to make it possible. This is hopefully the best solution for everyone. You’re supporting our small business and family when you purchase this planner. Thank you so much for your understanding.

{Pssst: get your 2021 planner here!}
We have so many options this year, it’s nearly tripled in size, from variety to new file options. The idea is that you can create your very own files from all the selections, based on your own needs and preferences. Oh, and our very favorite? The months are BOTH vertical and horizontal. We asked you, and this was your reply. We’re thrilled to offer both as an option this year! See more on that, where we give a sneak peek of what each section looks like, below.
A few things to remember before you begin perusing:
Two sizes because we get this question often: A4 is the basic binder size you see for all three ring binders. A5 is the smaller size you see here. {roughly 5-7/8 x 8-1/4} We even linked our favorite accessories below to make it easier for all.
Not everything is photographed above each section, because that was impossible! We brought back some of the classics, and some new fun patterns too. Be sure to check them all out to make sure you pick your fave.

So without further ado… the planner for 2022!
What I love the most about this planner, is how it really works together as a cohesive system. You can obviously have all the options from pattern to layout, customizable just for you. There are lesson plan pages with charts for kids to follow. And homework pages for students, along with journals as an option. There are menu plans with a notes list on the side for groceries, and neutral options for those of us who aren’t so crazy about patterns. We hope you truly enjoy this upcoming year’s 2022 planner, and that our returning readers can go ahead and mix them in with 2021. Because we all know that calendar can use some excitement.
Our wish for you is that everything is full and vibrant and exciting in the new year, with lots of plans inked in.
Here’s a sneak peek of the files you’ll have access to:
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Covers + Backs
As always, our planner comes with a plethora of covers + backs in both A4 + A5 sizes! We’re thrilled to introduce even more colorful patterns and options to our collection, and hope that anyone can find something here. There are so many more than pictured, so just know that we have you covered in all the amazing possibilities for mixing and matching fun patterns and designs.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Info Pages
Our info pages this year come with plenty of options and are gorgeously coordinated to match any look or combo you’re going for. You’ll probably find some oldies but goodies here, as well as new ones too. Perfect for both students + adults. And adult students.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Year at a Glance
As usual in our 2022 planner, we’ve included the year at a glance, with a few more options this year, as well! In this category you’ll find more fun options to pull together with your final look. The options really are endless.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Contacts
Here you’ll find personal and emergency contact pages in both sizes. A classic staple for any planner.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Birthdays + Anniversaries
And of course we’ve expanded it this year with even more fun patterns. These are a sneak peek as to what’s available!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Goals Pages
Because sometimes it’s fun to look back later and see what you tackled… of course with even more patterns available this year.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Goals – financial, business and personal…
This was per the suggestion of a great reader – we thought it was smart. This way you can write them down month to month, and keep track of your dreams and accomplishments. Nothing motivates me like writing it down! More new patterns this year, as well!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Inspiring Quote / Divider pages
Our divider/quote pages are back this year, with 25 options for patterns + sayings! We added a few new extras, too.
So many fun options!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Inspiring Quote / Divider Pages – Watercolor Lettering
Yet another idea we got from you guys! People were sharing all over instagram, and I spied where some of you were sharing our art with the planner for divider pages. Now you can combine the two because they’re all here! We’ve added more this year, as well.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Inspiring Quote / Divider Pages – Blank + Add your own categories
In this year’s 2022 planner, we also included some blank dividers. So you can alter them in any way that you like for all your planner sections. Of course we’ve added even more patterns to the mix so that it’s so fun to put them together!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Monthly Views
You asked and we listened! To keep everyone happy {yeah, we know that’s impossible} we now have every month available in two sizes, and both vertical and horizontal options. This year, so that it was feasible to keep it going, we opted out of numbers in order to offer you more. You can still pick your pattern to coordinate with all the fun colors! This is just a glimpse of all the options available.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Weekly Views
We’ve added even more to all the options!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Daily Views – Blank
We have blank day options too… so that you can use them for so much more. From lists to appointments to interviews… the options are endless.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Daily Views – Labeled
We even left a column in the side in case you want to fill in the hours yourself, along with notes and a larger area at the bottom for anything additional you may want to add. Because it feels good to cross all the things off all the lists.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Upcoming Schedule
This is one of our very favorite options. It allows you to see the weeks at a 3 or 6 week glance. We use these pages to schedule out our business projects.
How we use it: There are two columns on the left, next to the day of the week. One is for the date, the other is a checkmark, once it’s complete. On the main section is the project due that day, and in the right area, we use it for things like meetings, or what we need to be working on that day. You could use multiples of these for kids schedules, etc. The possibilities really are endless depending on your needs.
Available in all the new patterns, too!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Inspiration Pages
Jot down your ideas, sketch them out, and do it all in style. Our inspiration pages are just as cute as ever, {if we do say so ourselves} for those of you who like to use it as a sketchbook as well… with three times as many options in the 2022 planner!
How we use it: We love them for brainstorming and planning things out! These pages are perfect for inspiration and journaling of any kind. Kids may find this especially effective when figuring out projects, papers and more.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Student Planner
Something that we’re super thrilled to add again to this year’s 2022 planner, is our student planner. We think that the schedules for the days of the week and all things homework and activities are oh so important to keep up with, and it teaches them this responsibility, early.
We have two versions: one with the subjects filled in, and one totally blank. Yours to choose. And totally printable. Hey, whatever helps that motivation, right? Too soon.
How we use it: Our kiddos love using these for back to school. If anything, it gets them motivated. But now that they’re old enough to work on some things on their own, they keep up with their assignments this way!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Class Schedule
This is something new we’re offering to the student planner section! We love that our kiddos can keep up with their class schedules by writing them in their planner… which helps with memorization, too. We love adding another element to the student planner!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Graph Paper
Included again for all the things.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Journal Pages
Something we’re happy to include in this year’s 2022 planner, is the journal. We have blank pages with lines, and we have multiple patterned options as well. Combine these with our inspiration pages, and you have the perfect sketchbook full of personality.
So. Many. Options.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Teachers and Homeschool Parents – Education
Because we know you work hard, and we got you, boo. In all the new patterns, too! We’ve revamped all these sections to include some beloved faves + a whole new look. Again, it was impossible to photograph everything, but know that these come with more patterns than ever.
Grade Tracker and Attendance Charts
Lesson plans: available in four different formats
The first set is blank so it’s a more flexible form, whether using it per period in a school setting, or as a homeschooling parent. This format could work for in a variety of ways!

1. The first set is formatted with a homework column:
2. The second set is formatted for multiple children with topics covered + notes:

This is another great option for keeping up with their work in their own planners, in both A4 + A5 formats. Available in all new patterns, too!
Classic School Charts for laminating and classwork
Available in our classic format here
Free planner 2021: USA MAP
And because we thought this would make it even more fun in the kiddo {and let’s be honest, adult department} we added our USA map again this year. Laminated, these could be oh so fun with wet erase markers and our star stickers. You could also use these as another cover or divider! Track your travels in a fun way or teach them all about the states. Endless possibilities.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Time Sheets, Mileage Sheets, and Monthly Budget Sheets
Because sometimes you have to keep up with all the things, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be attractive. Available in all the new patterns too!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Cleaning Schedule
Because it helps to keep up with all the things!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Menu Plan + Food Journal
Menu plan and shopping list for the free planner 2021 edition- because sometimes lists help keeping up with it all. It comes in all the new patterns this year, too.
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Health: Symptoms Tracker + Med Tracker
We were contacted by a parent to include a few extras. This year for the 2022 planner, we were happy to oblige and hope this helps for anyone who is on a journey with keeping track of symptoms, meds, or even a food diary for various reasons. Available in all new patterns, too!
The Handmade Home planner 2022: Chore Charts
Daily: These are new and improved with simple patterns at the top, and a weekly format. These will fit seamlessly into their 2022 planner for easy tracking!
How we use it: We also like to laminate and put on our fridge.
And weekly, too!

Total side tangent, but this is my new fave gadget. The Create a Sticker Machine.
So of course we had to include a few custom stickers in the free planner 2021 for the superdorks out there like us. ;}
Our favorite planners/supplies/things that make us happy and keep us organized
Because nothing keeps us happy like a throwback to our hello kitty / lisa frank days… {the adult version???}
A4
• We’re in love with this fabulous A4 binder for all things planning. I’m using both planners in tandem this year – one as a planner, another as a sketchbook/business set up. I love it so much, I purchased another this year for when the older one wears out, since I use it daily.
• You can find our oldie but goodie that we’ve used for years, here. They only have a few colors left.
• This one in champagne.
• I also love this one, especially for binding your own. More on that below – this one does not come with clips, but it makes a great holder.
A5
• This blue one had me at hello. More colors, here. All of the colors. Seriously we’re smitten.
• A5 green planner {Also available in other colors} – perfect for smaller compact sizes and still holds our printables.
• A5 clear planner – our kids love these so they can customize their own look.
• A5 leather journal – comes with a filler but you can remove and use as a binder.
• A5 mustard – love this color available in more + more options here
• A5 pink – is fun for just about any age.
• A5 grey – is one of my new faves.
Binding your own
• The arc binding system is the most fabulous new go to ever. Seriously how did we ever live without it? You can now have your own size, just bind like this!
• Rainbow binding discs here.
• These clips here make it all possible. Simply print and punch.
Paperclips, Smash Bands and Tassles, oh my!
• We paired said binder with this fun smash band for a little extra flair, because it’s all in the accessories, ya know. #Ineedtogetoutmore
• We used paper clips from here as tabs to group some of our pages together, paired with these, for all things super adorable office supplies.
• Brass paperclips from here
• Rose paperclips from here
• Unicorn paper clips – because unicorn paperclips. They’re now sold out but we love these animal shapes + more here + these adorable brass shapes here
• Giant paper clips + metallic finishes here.
• We also love these big chunky clips.
• Love these bookmarks here + these brass tabs
• We paired them with these faux leather tassels to help keep up with all the things. Smaller ones here. They’re super cute strung on a paper clip, and put on the top of a divider or bookmark – as shown above. We also used these tassels this year to mix it up. Clearly, we have a thing with pretty tassels and planners.
• We also made fun little tabs for the kids by combining paper clips + these fun felt balls + these here.
• This amazing tape dispenser
Writing Utensils
• If I die, they can pry this pencil from my cold, dead fingers. I’ve used it since college and there’s no going back. Ever.
• This Mircon Pen is my go-to for standard pen love. Paired with these fun colors for all things keeping it straight. It seriously helps when I can see all the colors. No, I don’t really care if this makes me look like a 7th grader. 7th graders are cool.
• These pens are our newest addition – we love them.
• Someone else raise their hand if they had these as a child? We stocked up on these recently for summer fun and the kids have a blast using them.
Other Accessories:
• Washi Tape – because rainbow colors are all the rage. We really love these, too.
• This hole punch is useful for all things A5 sizes
• Not shown but linked above – sticker machine from here
• Pencil sharpener from here
• This adorable summer bag + keychain – which we love using as a gigantic planner bookmark.
• Laminator – because if you have children and don’t have a laminator, you’re definitely missing out. ;}
• Stapler – similar one found here – originally from Target.
Other planner alternatives: {because sometimes, they sell out}
• This fabulous binder
• Padfolio – in lots of color alternatives
• We love the colors with this one.
• grey planner with leather strap – other colors available, here.
• zip up pouch for holding your own bound creation

This 2022 planner falls in seamlessly with our (2021) option. We didn’t diverge much so it would blend well if you added to it, so we hope you can choose, pick, and enjoy our 2022 planner! We continue to evolve each year so we look forward to sharing that here.
• If you’re new here, be sure to check out all of our free printables, here + our spaces, here. We do more than just produce this planner and we hope you’ll check us out! All posts in chronological order, here.
• Nothing makes us happier than seeing them put to good use. Use #thehandmadehomefreebies on instagram, and we’d love to see them there!
And now, just a few always-asked questions about our 2022 planner:
1. What kind of paper do you print this on?
Card stock is what we love best. It’s probably not the most practical but it makes our 2022 planner feel official and stuff. Because planning may just be how we rule the world so that makes it important. It’s great for all things dreaming and scheming, but any will do! The regular size will fit perfectly on an 8.5 x 11 – just click, print, hole punch and use.
The smaller size will still fit on a standard sheet, just cut to your preferred (smaller A5 size) and use – Be sure to print these with a crop mark option on your printer, to make it easier to trim.
2. Can you print this on two sides?
I actually use the blank sides for extra sketching space… So I prefer the blank sides. But if you want to print on two sides, you can take it to a professional printer, or depending on your printer settings, run your paper back through to get it on the next side. This will vary for everyone depending on what they have to work with of the printer variety, and will probably require a little experimenting on your part.
3. Can you tell me how to print on both sides?
Unfortunately, this all depends on what route you choose to take and which printer you use. So that makes us about as useful as, well, this answer.
4. How much will this cost to print? How much paper will it use?
There are so many options for this, it all depends on you: How many you print at a time, what you decide to print, etc. The cheapest option will be at home if you already have a printer. And nothing comes in those personalized options we offer here.
5. I don’t see my size. Can you provide my size?
We have them available in the two sizes listed. However, you can try resizing it for your printer/computer through various programs like Photoshop, or taking it to a professional. The DPI is high for this purpose. Also, you can just print out one of our sizes, laminate the covers, and have it bound at a local print shop. {Or see what we did above with our brass ring clips or the arc binding system – GAME CHANGER!} Plenty of our fabulous readers have done this. We hope these suggestions help!
6. Can I take these to a professional printer? Will I be allowed to print them there?
Absolutely. We just ask that you respect copyright laws by not selling them ;} Or copying them and passing them off as your own because that basically means you suck as a person. Or throwing them at our heads. All of these things have happened. Therefore, it’s necessary for us to write this. Share, and enjoy!
7. How did you create these?
I am a graphic designer, so the files were created in both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop from original, handmade art. All of these designs are original to us.
8. Can you print this out, prepare it, and mail this to me?
No.
9. Regarding additions, changes, personal preferences for color, suggestions, questions and complaints:
We really do hope that you enjoy our 2022 planner and will definitely consider changes for the future, and appreciate friendly suggestions. We added a lot this year, based on last year’s requests and take those to heart each year and make thoughtful changes to the design and new additions. Thank you so much for those!
Please bear with us while we explain… Unfortunately, personal preferences will be different for everyone. We know that some people want a grocery list on the menu planner {it says notes, we hope you can still use it} and some don’t like the colors because they give them headaches. And some people think we’re idiots. We know, because we have received these actual messages over a planner each year. Wheeeeee! This was a planner made from scratch and original designs which adds up to months of work – believe it or not. If we tried to meet every single demand, we would never be able to play with our children. Let alone feed them. ;} At some point, we have to have boundaries. So it is what it is. We know we can’t please everyone. We are not a taco.
The options seen are the ones that are available. There are a ton of options here. The entire thing is over 1,700 files total, for a lot of fun choices at your fingertips to create from the choices available with what you like, best. All of that said, please feel free to not download the planner, if it doesn’t meet your needs. We know that this is not for everyone.
Thank you so much in advance for your understanding. If you’re still reading this, you the real MVP.
Thank you so very much for stopping by, and PLEASE ENJOY AND SHARE with EVERYONE YOU KNOW… that way we can bring it to you next year!
{Psssst! Nothing makes us happier than seeing them put to good use. Use #thehandmadehomefreebies on instagram and Facebook, we’d love to see them there!}

I’m so happy to find your website! 😀 I can’t wait to get my planner! I’ve been sitting on stickers for about 2 years now, just to use them on something like this! 🥳 Plus the fact that my life really needs to be more organized. 🤦
ashley @ the handmade home says
It makes me so happy that you can use this, Marian! Thank you for letting us know!
Layla K says
Wow you’ve outdone yourself again this year. Every year it just keeps getting better. I’m glad you decided to charge for it! Love this
ashley @ the handmade home says
Thanks so much, Layla. It was a lot of work but we truly love to produce it. Thank you.
Rebecca says
Thank you for all your work and for such a reasonable price! I love building my own planner to have exactly what I need and nothing I don’t. Your resources make it so much easier!
ashley @ the handmade home says
Thank you so much for letting us know, Rebecca! I am so glad to know it helps!
Christy says
Thank you!! I love, love, love your planners. I love that I can customize it with the forms I need and use. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this–it is appreciated.
Anne Russell says
Awesome work once again! I love to put my own planners together and use the ARC system of binding so I can move things around, add and take things out. I use both sizes, and your styling is enjoyable to use.
Michele says
Hi!
Your planners are amazing! I clicked the link to see what your favorite pencil is…I couldn’t help but wonder given your description of how much you love it :), but the link doesn’t work. I checked out the link in the 2021 planner and it doesn’t work there, either.
ashley @ the handmade home says
Hey Michele – thanks so much for letting us know! We purchase them from here. Hope that helps!
Yolande says
I’ve always loved your planners.
Easy to adapt to my needs, easy to print.
Are you doing one for 2023?
I’d take just the stuff with a date!
ashley @ the handmade home says
Hey Yolande! Unfortunately I just do not have time to make it happen. We have {gratefully} grown as a design business with renovations and real estate along with other content we share here and it’s too much. The planner was just too consuming and easily took up two+ weeks straight of my time to produce and my sanity… when I realized I needed to be doing other things. Thank you for understanding!
Ute says
Hi Ashley, so sorry to hear there will be no calendar in 2023. But a lot of the pages from the last years are universal, so I will try to adapt it to my needs for next year.
But anyway, thank you for providing the planner in the past years, it was very beautful and useful!
ashley @ the handmade home says
Thank you so much for your sweet words and understanding, Ute. I am sorry I can not provide it this year, it just no longer made sense. I hope it still works! ;}
Dana says
Ya salió el planner 2023?
ashley @ the handmade home says
Sorry no planner this year. Our business has grown so much in other ways with renovations and design, it’s just no longer possible to take on such a feat. Thank you for understanding!
