psssst…. shop our spaces here!
Do you remember this post from a few months ago? We were thrilled to give you a sneak peek of some fabulous clients’ spaces, and share a little bit about what we’d been up to. We shared a few tips for saving on a renovation, and the difference small changes for big impact can make when staying sensible. Jess + Kris were interested in taking on their children’s hallway bathroom, and they started out with this:
So we were more than excited to help transform it to this:
It’s crazy what a difference a few simple changes can make for a major impact.
The house hasn’t been touched since circa 1979, so to say it needed a change, would be an understatement.
We started by lightening and brightening the space, to give it a cleaner slate, and updated feel.
This isn’t their forever home, so they wanted to do a drop-in tub to save a little. We think this is a great example of how you can still do a lot to your bathroom without going over the top in the budget department. Good bye all the cream things… hello white and bright!
This bath is shared by three kiddos, boys and girls, ranging from ages 12 to 6. So we thought it was a fun, easy combo that helps with the whole group. We especially love the two sink combo after they only had one for so long. More counter and storage space were a big bonus.
The old crusty mirror went away, too, and the fun double mirrors actually opened up the space.
Cleaner lines and fresh finishes. Total side note, but I now want a caboodle for my makeup.
I truly don’t know why I don’t have one. I think I’ll write about that soon. No, I’m not kidding. I’m bringing them back for grown women because they’re amazing.
For bathrooms, it’s all about the little spaces with clever storage and big character. While a much larger vanity now offers tons of options in the storage department, we loved bringing in some simple storage with little accents to add a bit of fun for the kiddos.
A whale bookend now becomes a clever bath cloth holder, and this little sweet pickins bucket holds a odds and ends, like soaps and smaller rogue bath toys.
We added storage to their wall with all things towels, with these awesome hooks from D.Lawless hardware.
Truly, they’re one of our faves for all things hardware sources, so bookmark them as your go-to, and thank us later. ;}
The fun sconces over the bathroom vanity give a bit of that nautical feel, and give the once dark space, ample lighting.
As usual, Kichler knocked it out of the park again!
We also adore the semi flush over head light, here.
For the simplest of spaces, it really is all in the details.
Of course, we loved polishing off the floors with a classic penny tile from Jeffrey Court.
They add so much character!
As always, thanks so much for tuning in. We love these simple changes that gave the space such a new, fresh feel!
We know their kiddos are really enjoying their fresh take on a new space.
Have an inspired day!
This looks amazing! Did the toilet get moved over?
Hey! Thanks so much – yes it did – just about ten inches to make more room for the new longer vanity ;} I hope that helps!
Love it! Are you able to give the link for the shelves over the toilet holding the hand towels?
We are getting to redo our kids bathroom and would love to know where you got the vanity and mirrors from.
Thanks
I always love your designs, especially the lights you choose. It always makes me want to pull down my builder grade ones and replace them all!
Awe thanks so much – you’re too sweet! ;}
Love the shelves. Where are they from? You did such a good job! Please do mineš
Can you share where you got the vanity? Was it a ready bought piece or custom?
I’m walking through the girls department at Target the other day and I almost fell over when I saw a caboodle on display! My 7 year old couldn’t figure out why I was so excited…I can’t believe they make them again. Top of my Christmas list ;0
BTW-Bathroom is gorgeous, timeless finishes.
Can you please tell me what the paint colour is? Thanks!
Hi! I want to say it’s Sherwin Williams glass slipper – or something close to that. Hope that helps. ;}
