We’re thrilled to be here today to share one of our very favorites: our dark chocolate sea salt caramel apples! This one is such a classic all American staple, it reminds us of childhood, the county fair and fall all wrapped up into one.
It’s definitely a fabulous treat after jumping into some freshly raked leaves and perusing the pumpkin patch.
Or something else that’s totally quintessential fall.
They’re so much fun! Our kids adore them.
Here’s what you’ll need:
caramels
apples {we love green granny smith for a touch of tart to contrast with the sweet}
dark chocolate
skewers {you may have to cut them to size
sea salt
pan to store the apples and wax paper
Also, access to an oven + boilers for cooking.
When you’re ready to start, unwrap and melt your caramels!
In a boiler of your choice, just stir them in with a low heat.
In the meantime, place skewers in your apples.
This is the fun part! Just swirl them around in the caramel.
When you’re finished, place each one to dry in your pan and or wax paper.
We highly recommend wax paper, because we didn’t have any. ;}
Let your first coating chill for about thirty minutes. While they’re chilling, get ready to melt your dark chocolate.
We actually did this part in the microwave, and it was super easy.
Just keep an eye on it and stir in between. Dip them in,
And before they’re dry, sprinkle a little salt.
With a little of this action. YAAASSS Felicia. Salt Bae sends it over the top.
And then you’re done! This is a really fun project to do with your kiddos on a rainy day, or just because you’re feeling festive. I’d also recommend getting little baggies to wrap them up in, for a sweet gift! Tada! You’re done with the best home made dark chocolate sea salt caramel apples ever!
As always, let us know if you have any questions!
