Today we’re back with easy ideas for an eclipse party!
And no, I’m not talking fangs and werewolves here, peeps. Because this is the 2017 eclipse, not 2005. Wow – was that one really that long ago? That was good times and stuff, but we’ve moved on. the actual 2017 eclipse is a big deal and the dead may rise to walk the streets again in a zombie apocalypse while aliens land because it’s the end of the world!!! Hide yo kids hide yo wife.
JK. I haven’t seen any doomsday stuff, probably because I don’t pay attention. So in the meantime, we thought we’d share a few easy ideas for an eclipse party. Because it happens like once every one hundred years, we have plans to check the kiddos out of school and have a fun little viewing party of our own. Woot woot! So whether you’re hiking up the mountainside with a scary cult to meet the aliens, or having the fam over for a quiet day-time kinda shindig… be sure to check out some of our fave ideas! {And a fun freebie to go with it, below!}

- This sparkly cutlery and awesome star plates to boot. Because we can all use a little color in our lives.
- This cannon from Nice – a great way to travel to the park -or just your back yard!
- These adorable galaxy napkins to add a great touch to any table.
- Galaxy slime for the littles. Because moon slime. Please tell me we’re not the only ones a little obsessed?
- These great garlands for a special touch if you’re feeling the urge to decorate.
- This little lunch pack if you’re having a little picnic with some of your favorite friends
- A moon map because sometimes we’re nerds and love commemorative touches
- Because what’s a pool party looking at the eclipse without a fantastical sun float? Yes, please.
- Confetti. For everyone. In these adorable little shapes.
- Moon Pies. Do we need any further explanation?
- These tees to wear because when is the next time we’ll see a total solar eclipse?
- These glasses. Bonus: You look like a nerd and that’s awesome – especially when you’re protecting your corneas.
- This great blanket for lounging and watching all the things. And the aliens.
Oh! And we figured if you planned to have a shindig, or invite someone to your apocalyptic space landing, you’ll want invites. Duh. Welcome, aliens.
These are oh so cute, if we do say so ourselves… the eclipse with the sky – and all things stars… Just click, print and cut… {get it here: eclipse stationery} fold over and they’re ready to go. Tada! We love card stock for a great finish … and be sure to check out the rest of our freebies here!

Hi Guys –
Your post was very timely for me today. On my to-do list was: Buy Eclipse glasses. I used your link… thanks for making that task easy. 🙂 We are right in the path in Columbia, SC. as it goes directly over Lake Murray where we live. We are having a big party and hoping for a sunny day so we can see the whole thing clearly.

I am very close to that sweet spot. In fact, the shadow will pass right over my area near St. Louis. I’ve invited my co-workers to come to my house (along with any family) so that we can watch this 2 minute event. I’m really glad you posted some of these idea/helpers, especially the invite cards. I love the idea of Moon Pies! I going to use that one. I love the info graphics in your post. I think I’ll print them on cardstock and put them on the lunch table so guests can read about the event before it happens.

We are pumped here in the Kansas City area! We are taking our RV to a lake directly in the path of totality since we live south of the city and outside the path.
