When these sweet clients called us about a leak in their kitchen, we were sorry it happened, but thrilled {because been there} that they contacted us. We can’t wait to help. The goal is to repair the damage and add a little more timeless charm that reflects their style in the process. This project is currently in the works, and today, we’re excited to share a little sneak peek!
To be completely transparent, these past few years have been a little touch-and-go with work we can share here because of various reasons. So we have quite a few projects that are just launching, and we’re so excited to share a little of a mix of sneak peeks and work-in-progress! We’re trying to do more of that, because of many requests. It was just a few weeks ago we gave a little sneak peek of this huge one we’ve been working on behind the scenes, so while we’re really close with finally getting started {I know our clients will be THRILLED}, we will be sharing a few more in the meantime. A little of what we’ve been up to.
To offer a little perspective, here is a view from their dining area into the kitchen space. It was a dishwasher leak, so a little of the demo had already been taken on. Just past the fridge in the above photo, we have a doorway, and to offer more cabinet space, we came up with a little bit of a different configuration. By covering up the existing wall, they now have much more cabinet space. The same opening also exists in the dining room, simply offering a little more of a walk-around.
And here are a few of the design elements we’ve chosen for the space! The existing brick will get a little bit of a mortar wash, along with some gorgeous new cabinetry in this charming blue/green hue. With all the elements combined, their kitchen will get a new lease on life. We love how the entire thing now has a bit of that modern, British-Bake-Off vibe. Yes, I always come up with a weird word combo for our designs.
So Here’s another view of their existing kitchen, with the built-in double ovens, which are staying, since they’re perfectly good.
And a quick mockup of a similar view. Turning the island now gives them a lot more seating area and workspace, along with moving the oven to the right side of the room so that it becomes more of a focal point on that wall. The backsplash also has a charming, old-world vibe with lots of subtle character. While some of these items in the mockup are just place holders, the basic vibe is still there so that you get the idea of where all this is headed.
The key is to give the space a much more open, yet highly functional feel.
Here’s a view from the dining room, and the changes that will entail. No worries, the table isn’t actually textured like that, but more like the one sourced in the “official” design above.
And here’s a second look at that view from another angle.
Updating the lights with these fabulous Kichler finds will do so much for the space. I also love that we’re able to take out a rectangular table {while still lovely} to open up the space a little more and allow better flow.
Again, the brick will have a mortar wash which gives it more of a timeless feel, than what is represented for placement purposes below. But we love sharing a little of the idea!
It just has a much cleaner, simpler vibe once finished. Definitely charming, too.
Here are a few more glimpses of that flat lay. As always, we’re loving the Delta accessories, and D Lawless hardware touches, as well! We can’t wait to put their kitchen back together for them. In the meantime while we’re working on that, we thought it would be so fun to share this little sneak peek!
As always, thanks for tuning in to what we’ve been up to. We can’t wait to share the end result, so stay tuned! Have an inspired day!
