A halloween viewing party in the cabana! We’re ready for spooky season around here, and the other night I decided to surprise the kids with a fun celebration of sorts. Scary movies + yummy food for the win!
We did a fun charcuterie board for the kiddos, with the fixins.
While I’m at it… Trader Joe’s to the rescue. They had some really cute and easy Halloween finds with yummy foods. From sour bats to pumpkin spice cookies – yes please. #Aintnobodygottimetoprepeverything #totallynotsponsored
I paired it with these plates, a black tray + this little guy who is now our halloween multi-tasker around the house. He’s just happy to be here.
For the colorful backdrop, we used an assortment of fun finds.
We pulled out these bottles with food coloring in them, for “potions”.
I made little tassels with yarn I had on hand, and added button eyeballs to create “goblins” on a string. The kids said the blue and purple ones look like octopi {octopuses?} and I agree – so whatever looks colorful yet spooky, works.
And I found these tiny pumpkins for another fun accent, here.
Walmart had these jack-o-lanterns on sale with the vintage faces, for less than two dollars each. I’d initially searched for them online but realized it’s a real racket out there when they were trying to charge 20 dollars each for some. Nothing beats a good vintage {cheap!} take on Halloween!
We also added our rainbow fairytale pumpkins as another colorful accent. So easy to make! And we love that they last through November, too, since I’m lazy like that.
True story, but I placed an order from Bath and Body Works last week, and they sent the wrong thing, with these random candlestick holders. They were quick to correct it and so easy to work with, but told me to keep the candlesticks.
At first I was all, what will I do with these things? They light up and swirl around with glitter inside, and definitely made me laugh. A friend promptly pointed out that these are perfect for Halloween. So they were topped with black candlesticks and indeed, perfect for our spooky night.
We love our little skeleton guy! He looks kinda hangry to me.

The weather is perfect to enjoy the cabana, and we had a blast with our spooky night. Our middle has been into scary movies for a while but the boys are slowly but surely coming around too. It makes it so much fun!
What are some of your favorite things to do with your kiddos for Halloween? As always, we’d love to hear if you use some of our printables!
Have an inspired day!
