The time is nigh. We’re ready to go into battle, and survive the onslaught of last minute holidaisical apocalypse shoppers. Because ’tis the season. While I wait in really long, last minute lines and my kids pull on my arms and say they’re tiiiiirrreeedddd and ask if they can have a toooooooyyyyyy even though Santa is on his way, and I remind them of this through gritted teeth oh so lovingly that he may not be coming after all {because I’m an awesome parent like that} and suddenly my eye is twitching and my last remaining bits of sanity filter through run on sentences while that impatient lady behind me presses in even closer, breathing down my neck with ebolachickenpoxflu.
Or not. Because we’re back. With our traditional round up of fave last minute {and probably not so much} handmade gift ideas for the holidays! Whether you use them this Christmas or not, or if you’re looking for a few fun ideas for the upcoming year, we thought we’d save a few of our very faves here to hopefully, inspire.
You can totally order some supplies on amazon and avoid the germstressfest…
Or just ignore this entire list and order stuff from Amazon because that’s totally what we {shamelessly} did whilst watching Netflix.
But in case you need a few handmade ideas if you have a little time to make something special on your hands, or you want to file them away for a more realistic timeframe, here’s a little round up!
These tree branch crayons because all the kids want crayons made of tree branches and if you go back in January without said tree branch crayons, you’re so not cool.
JK. We made that up. But these would be a really fun stocking stuffer, or something to make with them over the holidays.
A lumbar pillow! Everyone needs a lumbar pillow. It was at the top of my list.
And then I made one.
A smaller version of this y’all art would be super adorable/unique in a little frame for giving, or on little watercolor cards for the holidays, and we have a how-to in this tutorial {or make a giant one for yourself – there will be no judging}.
These vintage pennants proclaiming how awesome everyone is.
DIY number tags take just a few to whip up, and would even be great as gift toppers. When rounded up after the wrapping has settled, they’re just perfect for labels in those highly organized baskets we all know you had time to get to during the holiday rush. Icing on your cake. With a side of sarcasm.
Build your own dollhouse {and then make a project with your little one to deck out the inside – trust us, she had a blast!} You can also transform a bookcase like this to save time… or just save the idea for later like we did – all in the name of sanity.
Handmade sugar scrubs, soaps + salt soaks {or all of them for a DIY spa kit} – Free printables available for a super awesome/simple I-totally-made-this-I’m-amazing, it-took- five-minutes but looks lovingly made, look.
For the kiddos: originally for easter but they would be oh so cute for christmas …
Slightly random but also fun for the gardening enthusiast.
A mariner’s compass – Duh. It’s at the top of your second cousin twice removed’s list.
JK we just really like this photo.
DIY fridge magnets packaged oh so sweetly are fun for a simple gift for that swap you’re doing at work. Everyone will be fighting over your awesomeness.
A no sew tent -Because let’s be honest – you can keep them happy with movie night or hide in it yourself with your own holidaisical coping mechanisms. We won’t judge.
Easy coasters – for your neighbors who dropped chocolate off on your porch last night and now you feel guilty because you need to do something too.
DIY monograms {Excellent teacher gifts!}
{Just add a wood block behind them for the look you see in our entryway-or fabric for the ones you see over the kitchen}
Or do them over the holidays for yourself.
These agate knobs that you could really turn into anything interesting, even if you just leave them as is…
Or the ampersand art here {Again in small versions for fun little gifts!-just print out the little version of the printed ampersand, cut and trace onto your board.}
Hexagon magnets would make a really fun project over the holidays!
With the new year around the corner, you could always purchase the planner (linked in the post) and print out the free calendar/planner {2015} for someone. Or yourself so you’re not stuck in those lines at the store next year.
Really, this is for me.
And there’s a ton of ways you could cleverly package our free printables, now that we think of it…
ticket printables as a sentimental gift…
map puzzles {world + USA} for the kids…
I’m renaming them save my own sanity printables because I forgot we had these.
A funky sleep mask for the gal who has everything but this {See: Your sister in law.}
A no sew teepee – Santa delivers.
Don’t miss a simple holiday gift wrapping station from Iron + Twine
A few of our favorite ways to wrap gifts since at this point it’s a lot of work I have to do late at night and washi tape with twine makes me not-so-loopy.
Print out a photo of this, wrap it up, and call it a day- start building as soon as the weather gets warm. Just saying.
You may find yourself hiding in it on occasion… with more special not-so-holidaisical coping mechanisms.
And see more last minute handmade gift ideas in an older post, here!
Oh, and of course our books. You know we had to mention those… Because they’re ours.
Happy Holidaisical Hooplah everyone! And all joking aside, we truly hope you have time to relish in these sweet memories.
Just know you’re not alone.
Hugs to you all + Have an amazing family/friends/love-filled time!

This is perfect- I love your real sense of humor. Probably won’t make any this weekend because we are out of time as you said- but I’m saving so many right now and those printables are a great idea! My wheels are spinning. Hmmm- thanks again!

Fun fun fun…love these! We went the shameful amazon ordering in one sitting route because of our current homeless and jobless ministry situation (cue the sad violins). BUT — I’m thinking of doing an ‘after Christmas’ Christmas when we find a home so the kids can create things to gift each other for their new spaces.

Perfect ! We’ve been wanting to make the hideaway! 🙂
