Do you remember this little series we started not too long ago with the fabulous Jeffrey Court? You can see our first post here, and our last post, here where we talked about mixing materials in your home.
We’re excited to be back today, with more really fun ideas for the home!
mixing materials in your home: three ways
I think that a lot of times, people wonder about how to mix materials in their spaces, to pull something together in a cohesive way. We believe in color and pattern and layers, to create a real, breathable, fun home. But today we’re here with three more spaces and we’re thrilled to share all the details.
The Epicures Bar
Because creating spaces beyond the expected is oh so fun!
You may remember the bar we created in this client’s home, with the fabulous Jeffrey Court. You can see how we styled it three ways, here. I guess you can say we were inspired in that direction, so here we are with some fun ideas!
• Tile – Of course we love Jeffrey court. We’d love to see this soft blue glass for a touch of fresh glimmer on the back of a bar!
• Bar + Countertop – The cabinets would be delightful in SW Gray Screen and a classic marble, a-la honed White Cherokee, just like what you’ll find in our own kitchen – I guess you could say we’re totally biased. Knobs are found from the local flea market.
• Paint – an unexpected wall color would be SW Dorian Gray.
• Fabric – From our own collection found here + paired with this denim blue – I’d love to see some cozy seating to make a sweet bar even better.
• Window treatments – in fabulous blinds from Select Blinds in Nassau
The Mid-Century Charm Kitchen
A whole lot of fun and unexpected character for a space, bringing in vintage charm. All in a sit-in-your-grandma’s-kitchen-and-lick-the-batter kinda way. I do what I want.
• Tile – Jeffrey Court’s Century Star holds a style that you can’t deny. We love this sweet marble for the main backsplash. We’d also use this in stripes for the dining area. Their awesome bevels hold a little bit of sparkle for the entire feel!
• Cabinets + Countertops – This kitchen holds a sweet nostalgic feel and a definite cozy vibe. We’d finish off the main cabinets in Sherwin Williams Artichoke + countertops in antiqued Caledonia. Island in Alabaster with the countertop in a simple antiqued St Henry granite from Polycor.
• Fabric – A charming banquette with pillows from this fabric gives it plenty of character!
Hardware and accessories are found elements for a nostalgic vibe!
The Seaside Spa
Whether mud wraps and facials literally by the sea, or just creating your own ambiance, here are some of our favorite combos for this special space.
• Tile – Would love to see some amazing flooring in this Locket Natural Stone Mosaic from Jeffrey Court. We’d pair it on the walls with Fresh White Bevel wall tile in a fun basket weave pattern.
• Cabinets + Countertops – in SW Pure White + Polycor’s beautiful Pearl Grey – honed.
• Wallpaper – if this feels vaguely familiar, it’s definitely from our studio + laundry area. You can scoop some up, here.
• Hardware – Our fave pick are these pulls from D. Lawless – they’re our fave go-to for all things hardware!
• Fabric – We’d love to see curtains in this awesome light pinstripe + pillows in this awesome pastel stripe.
