Remember the one where we wrote about how our house got a haircut?
I mean, it didn’t actually get a haircut… but when Window World arrived on the scene like superhero stylists and installed these glorious new jewels, it kind of felt like it did.
It’s like when you put off a haircut for too long, and suddenly you realize your full potential. Because, that haircut was long overdue, and it made our house’s eyes pop and brought out its best features, and the sights and sounds of progress were welcome after waiting for so long to proceed with all this construction mess.
{No worries, we still have big plans for the outside. If anything, the new windows made us realize how much we want it freshened up a bit: new siding, shutters and paint – oh my.}
But the windows alone made a huge difference in the feel of our home. We were glad to do things like make our home more energy efficient and safe. We were thrilled to have some amazing new benefits that came with new windows.
It started with a consultation and quote, we ordered, and they came.
The windows were installed. {And if you missed our post on replacing windows, check out the why, here.}
We installed new windows for lots of reasons. But, you know what we really didn’t realize would happen? The side {a.k.a. extra} benefits.
The glorious side benefits of those new windows, because we knew it made the outside look spiffy, were what they did to the inside of our home!
It kind of rocks our world, the difference.
It opened up our spaces.
We have a limited amount of square footage in this house.
Without the basement finished just yet, we’re living in 1700 square feet of space.
With 5 people and two big dogs.
Which is totally fine because we’re rethinking how we live, and we like it more this way.
But you wouldn’t know it. It made our spaces seem so much bigger.
It opened up our world of view.
Even the leaves feel more colorful outside those windows this fall. The spaces feel brighter. The walls bigger.
It’s like we unintentionally made an investment in the inner ambience of our house. Which sounds kind of crazy to say.
We replaced our windows for the practical, and ended up with this great side benefit. But it’s insane how much it altered the feel of everything.
Yes, we did a full on renovation, and that can make a huge difference. There’s no denying it. But we can honestly say, it just wouldn’t have been the same without the windows.
Window World’s windows opened up our views. They made our spaces brighter…
And we absolutely love it.

Love the new windows! We got new windows when I was a kid, and I remember how much brighter and cleaner it made our house feel on the inside. 🙂 I would love to hear more about how you’re rethinking how you live, and what you love about living in a smaller space.

What a gorgeous house, you’ve done such a good job! It certainly looks bigger and brighter, and with winter so close it must be so lovely to have it open and airy. The outside looks wonderful as well, your garden is fabulous!
