Remember Heather + Andrew’s Story?
For us, its the stories behind the spaces, and they’re the reason why we do what we do.
We were thrilled to bring you the master reveal and all the changes made in their home, starting with the master bedroom and bathroom that brought so much fun style to Andrew’s Space!
And today, we wanted to share a little kitchen sneak peek.
As you can see with this little before, their kitchen had not been touched since 1970 something. Maybe even before.
When they initially moved in, they painted the cabinets, so even the before of the before was a lot more to take in…
There’s something charming about that floor, but ultimately, we’re looking to give Andrew and his kiddos a uniform space that flows even better.
And a more suitable workspace for all things school and paper work.
Their eat-in area is getting a bit of a makeover as well, and we can’t wait to share the end result with so many fun things. A great place to gather with family and friends.
So here are a few of the elements we pulled to help work with Andrew’s needs…
While some of the designs have changed, {as all good ones do over time to suit the needs of the client} we were glad to bring in these elements, along with the over all look and flow of the kitchen.
Andrew is actually a master chef so we’re bringing in elements like a modern stove, farmhouse sink and beautiful soapstone countertops.
Things that work within his wishes and realistic needs along with a great design to pull it through.
So here’s a look at the demo a few weeks ago,
And the fabulous sneak peek of the kitchen mid-progress.
We opted to change up the shelving and desk as well, to give him a more realistic option for his needs.
The hardware is some major eye candy. Like jewelry to top it all off.
So stay tuned for the after, because we’re oh so close and can’t wait to share it all!
Have an inspired day!

I’d love to see you do a “day in the life” – how you spend your time. It feels like you two do too much to be possible!

HAHA! Thanks for the sweet comment Courtney- maybe that’s why I have my second cold in two months? 😀 What a fun post idea! Any specifics you’d be interested in? We just may do that!

Where’d you get the cabinet hardware?
ashley @ the handmade home says
Hey Julie – the hardware was offered through the cabinet company locally. I chose from their options as it was included in the price of the cabinet – it’s different every time but that’s how it worked out this time around. I would check hardware resources though, as a place to grab it up, if I had to guess.

I just recently found your site and I was hooked right away. This is going to be a really fun project to watch as it progresses. Love the countertops! It’s so helpful that you included the section of individual items you have picked. Sometimes it’s hard to see all the different things that are included when looking at the final picture.

I love your new bathroom Ashley. Are there any before and after side by side photos available? That tub is very nice looking, but of course, I am partial to claw foot tubs. Anyway, good luck on your kitchen renovation. May you have much luck.
