Hello lovely friends! We’re back today with our sources from our studio reveal last week! Let’s dive in, shall we?
This room is a great space for our family and a fun work area for me that I was so ready to use. It was definitely an assortment of different finds and we love the outcome! So we’ll start with the most-asked, burning question: Where did you find that rug???
We scored this lovely kilim rug off of Ebay from this vendor. It’s real. Hand woven. From Turkey. I usually stay away from Ebay because it confuses me and makes me feel like I’m stuck in the 90’s on a badly designed website and people scare me. (See: not user friendly.) But this vendor has a great selection, and it was a fast shipment. It was a win from an auction (see me: threatening to cut someone if they outbid me) and we fell in love with the colors and fun one-of-a-kind vibe. I may or may not have stalked the mail until it arrived.
This beautiful chandelier was also an Ebay purchase. Again, suddenly I’m all about Ebay and I never shop there. Emerson may or may not have been cheering me on for this one, and it was one of those epic moments where I waited until the last possible second to outbid the current highest bidder. (It was all in slow motion, and stuff. My voice got really low with a noooowwwwwwwww while I reached for the enter button and Emmy did a victory somersault five times in the background. And then I realized my amazingly fab deal was in GB prices, and it was still a GREAT win, but not as cheaply as I’d hoped because I hadn’t had coffee yet or at least I’ll blame it on that.) None the less, I’m thrilled, the package arrived quickly and this beautiful vintage light is right up my alley. So much so, that I will take it down when I move and the next owner of our home can not have it. Because I paid more than I wanted to and it’s gorgeous brass and if you need me, I’ll be hanging from it, upside down calling it my precious.
I used simple drawer dividers from Target, along with some bowls I already had around our home for shots of color. My favorite part about this desk is that you can see through the top, and it keeps everything in order. Accountability is key for me so right now, we love it.
We built the crates and used more of this Cabot Stain for their finish in Cinnamon Toast. (Tutorial coming soon) Brass labels from here. (House of Antique Hardware)
You can read all about our DIY shelving and “brass” brackets, here. The baskets were a score from Hobby Lobby, spray painted gold.
This beautiful piece is from our fave local spot, Blue Willow Home & Farm. If you live anywhere near our area (Montgomery, Alabama) It’s worth the drive! I find something every time I’m there. And that’s a dangerous thing.
We topped it off with some gold leaf knobs. (Tutorial also coming up)
The fun little bingo container is a score from Target, and a few other little nicknacks are local finds and gifts. We will be including a how-to for that fun dry erase board art soon, as well.
This delightful pharmacy lamp was also from Blue Willow Home & Farm as was the chair (You can read all about a quick + simple restoration, here) This little owl was another score from Target, and the octagon container from a One Kings Lane sale.
I lined the inside of this cabinet with some fab polkadot oilcloth. If you’ve never used oilcloth, you’re missing out. From chair coverings to drawer liners and anything in between: It’s perfect, durable and super fun.
The fabric from the pillows came from fabric.com Michael Miller Broadcloth in Pink + Lavender + this faux fur in mongolian rust
The white paint : Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace + the ceiling : Benjamin Moore’s Robins Nest Blue. The curtain rod is an old copper pipe that we layered to make extra long and strong, since it runs the length of the space, along with some linen we’ve had (from the time of our first version of this room) that was a premier prints fabric in a plain linen finish.
If I left anything out, please let me know – We hope this helps with some of your questions! Stay tuned for our desk tutorial tomorrow, and have an inspired day!

This is a great space and thanks for all the sources! Love the rug and the light! You’ve inspired me to try eBay. I have eBay phobia as well.

Curious….love the rug but wonder how are you keeping it from bunching up and moving. I love dhurri-esk and Kilum style rugs, but hate that they grow legs and move all over the place…. I’ve tried double sided rug tape, rubberized pads and nothing keeps my rugs from traveling. Do you have a secret?

How did you line your shelves with oilcloth? Forgive me, but I’ve never heard of it! I clicked on the Etsy link but I still couldn’t figure it out: is it adhesive-backed? I am so confused b/c the Etsy shop says it’s also great for upholstery. Please clarify; my brain is going nuts! 🙂

I also don’t really love ebay, but have gotten some great deals. Our 1/2 bath sink was a 99 dollar score (it retails for 400.00)…and it’s also a good place to shop for statement fashion necklaces…if you don’t mind waiting a month until they arrive from China! LOL
anyway, that rug is GORGEOUS and worth every penny. Same with the chandy. beautiful room!
