If you’re anything like us right now, then you’ve been in the kitchen a little more than the average bear. For us, in between friends and family gatherings, all things holidaisical, and birthdays… we’re all about easy appetizers to keep sweet guests entertained.
We’ve shared some of our fave charcuterie board combos on here before, but I guess you could say this is our very favorite holiday edition. The perfect smoky combos in savory meats and cheeses, combined with a little sweet, too. So without further ado, here are a few of our easy, fave things to serve a-la charcuterie boards.
We thought we’d start off my listing them in categories, so you can decide what you’d like to combine. This is a well rounded array of tastes that are really great in all the different combos.
Meats:
Prosciutto is a go to – so yummy!
Volpi Prep Coppa – it’s a nice smoky meat to pair with a variety of cheeses
{every time I write that I get a little Twilight throwback. Volturi anyone?}
Pepper coated Salami – it just makes it a little extra festive for some reason
Cheeses:
Fontina Cheese – known as a hard cheese, it has a nice, almost-nutty flavor
Havarti – creamy and delicious. Also kind of wonderful on grilled cheeses if you’re looking to mix it up a little
French Brie – soft and wonderful
Smoked Mozerella – amazing with just about anything but really sends the tastes in the volpi prep coppa over the top
Blueberry vanilla goat cheese – you’ll never want anything again. Also, Trader Joe’s has a similar version in cranberries that is also delicious.
Crackers:
For nice crackers to pair, we love various flavors like rosemary and olive oil, garlic, and anything of the sea salt variety.
Nuts:
We also add in nuts {if no allergies are present} with almonds, cashews, and macadamia.
Fruit:
Throw in any type of fruit of the berry variety, like strawberries and black berries… and of course, grapes.
They all pair nicely. We also love fresh figs with the Brie – it’s irresistible!
Charcuterie boards are such a fun little appetizer, or even a meal, to try new pairings and ideas.
