When Pier 1 contacted us about creating something fun for the Thanksgiving Holidays, we were totally on board.
Only things weren’t ready yet with the house like we’d planned. {Insert gigantic *big surprise* eye roll here from yours truly a-la Murphy’s Law.}
So we had something else up our sleeves, instead. {Refresh if it’s not loading… we actually made a video. I know, right? Hold on to your britches.}
So we decided to do things a little differently. And we had a tablescape-on-the-go, of sorts.
Which ended up as this unintentional, beautiful little moment with our sweet friends.
Celebrating life.
Isn’t that what it’s all about?
No fuss, simple ways to celebrate the holidays. A literal breath of fresh air. I think we could all use a little more of that.
This tablescape totally says: Life is short. Dine out of an old truck bed while watching the sun set, and afterwards… make s’mores.
It definitely says… come on over and have a seat with me while we talk about a little bit of everything.
Maybe I’ll even pass out “I survived The Handmade Home’s renovation” tees for anyone who stuck through this with us. And then we’ll eat more s’mores.
They say an artist’s limitations are what make them more creative… We think this rang true with our little outdoor soiree. ;}
We enjoyed every single moment, in creating this sweet tablescape with some amazing Pier 1 goodies. Their selection is kinda endless.
Tablescapes are one of our very favorite things. Especially when they’re for celebrating.
And we love all the fun things from Pier 1, from the chargers to the plates, goblets and owl moscow mules.
But seriously… those owl moscow mules.
We had so much fun doing what a true Thanksgiving feast is all about…
{Product links: Corda light blue wine glass, Golden sunburst charger plate, Carmelo coral melamine dinner plate, gem stone napkin ring, Moscow mule mug, salad plate, knit throw and yellow napkin.
In case you’re wondering if we bought a vintage truck… don’t I wish?
I’m officially smitten with Big Red. We couldn’t have pulled this off without major props from our sweet friends. Bonus: they’re also our new neighbors. I mean, it just keeps getting better, doesn’t it?
We’re reveling in our mutual septic woes camaraderie. Meanwhile, they definitely win at life because they own Big Red.
I couldn’t not include this pic from the kiddos… because there was a lot of craziness going on in the name of sheer fun. And I didn’t even capture our neighbor who decided to mow his lawn in the middle of the photo shoot. It was gold, I tell you.
We’re thankful for him… too. ;}
Oh, but now to the fun part!
Pier 1 wants to help you celebrate the holidays, too.

OMG! I absolutely loved this! Everything was truly beautifully set. To me though more importantly you captured the real meaning behind Thanksgiving. As long as you are with people you are thankful for, you can celebrate and eat anywhere.
The whole piece start to finish is PRICELESS! However, I would say $200.00. It may seem to be a real underestimate, but that’s because you can’t put a price this perfection. It’s was eye appealing and elegant. That’s what it was.
Thanks for sharing. You’ve inspired me.
