Last week, we were told, that here in the tropics, we were “supposed” to get some snow. I didn’t believe “them,” {them=evil weather people} but for the past three years, it has actually snowed here. Of course, everyone started to freak out, because that’s what we do here in the south. We freak out over snow and ice. So, after Jamin duked it out in a major grocery store session (where people totally spazzed, circa 1906 (think the great earthquake in Cali) and stabbed people for the last morsel of bread) we waited anxiously at home.
Literally waited.
Aiden prayed for snow that night. And as you probably know, here in Montgomery, the snow never came.
But the National Championship did. So I guess that kind of made up for it.
And since we couldn’t roll toomers, we woke up to toilet paper in our own yard, instead. Yes, we were kicking ourselves the next day when we had to clean it up in the freezing, wet yard…
But the kids loved it.
In other news, Emerson turns 3 today. I still can’t believe that three years ago, this little screaming banshee came into our lives. We celebrated a-la pump it up yesterday. My first official do-nothing-but-pay-and-show-up party. It was worth. every. penny. {this coming from the girl who prepares the entire day before with decorations to the hilt-it was a nice change of pace)
We started out with birthday donuts.
True to Emerson form, she posed for the picture.
Though I have to say, in all fairness, I think she woke up with yet another pulled muscle in her neck. She keeps doing that to herself. Thus the bandaid. Because bandaids make everything better.
I joke a lot, and I don’t want to damage her one day when she goes back to read this. I am truly blessed beyond measure with this precious, gorgeous, brilliant, wonderful, awesome, absolutely hilarious little girl in my life. She makes my heart swell and I adore her. Words just can’t describe or contain my love. I am blessed beyond measure with all three incredible children in my life.
Emerson, with her buddy, Lily. Her mom, Abbie and I, have known each other since the 4th grade. Her birthday is two days before Emerson, and before we knew that we lived in the same town, we literally passed one another in the halls of the hospital in our wheelchairs, with our new baby girls. How’s that for irony?

Malone was so tired, he started to fall out of his seat. It wasn’t long before Aiden and his peeps took over the prime seating arrangement.
It was our first low maintenance partay, and it was worth every moment. The kids all had a blast. {and SO DID MOM AND DAD}
And that’s what we’ve been up to as a of late. Stay tuned this week for some goodies coming your way!
