back to school lunch makin’ station with lunchskins
Happy Monday, lovely friends!
It’s our first day back to school… This year we have one kindergartener and one second grader. Hold me… I may faint in disbelief and while each transition is bittersweet, we’re also super excited about their school, teachers, classmates… and watching them grow this year.
We’re also in the process of anything that makes our lives easier, while we adjust to two full time students, homework, uniforms, getting into the groove again, and… lunches.
Getting back into it all can be exhausting. We’re always looking for that balance between healthy, environmentally conscious, and easy when it comes to their lunches. Oh, please bring on the easy. Lately, I’m all about anything around our home that makes our lives just a little simplified. Anything seems to help.
That’s what we love about Lunchskins. These spiffy bags hold their snacks and lunches in place, and they can be reused. We love them.
So we decided to come up with a lunch makin’ station, using these helpful little baggies.
We decided to simplify it.
Three containers. Filled with the things my kids eat for lunchtime.
So from these bins, they may choose. They’re easy to grab, and keep everything contained in one place. No fifty trips back and forth from the pantry, fridge, and counters… and since all three kiddos like something different, they can pick their own goodies. For snack and lunch time.
They put them in their Lunchskins, into their lunch boxes, and away they go! For now, we fix their lunches, but it keeps those choices simple.

PS. This year I let them choose their own lunch boxes. R2D2 lights up and makes noises… and apparently my four year old is enamored with police cars, and dogs have hi-lights in pink and wear mascara… but moving on…

Those lunchskins look awesome. I will have to try those out. We tend to prepackage as much as we can. I know what you mean it can be so overwhelming. the simpler the better.

This will be our second year using lunchskins instead of plastic baggies and we LOVE them. My kids love that they get to choose their fun designs. I love that are dishwasher safe and environmentally friendly. Thanks for highlighting this awesome product!!

We bought a three-pack of Lunchskins for my daughter, who just started kindergarten a few weeks ago. Love them so far! So easy to wash and they seem very durable. Plus the cute patterns are a win. 😉
okay. those statistics are scary and overwhelming.
i’ve been away from plastic bags for about 10 years, until this year.
i caved and bought some for my kids lunch boxes. i’m ashamed.
i’ll use these up and ban them again, i promise.
So I’ve been stressing out for days now about how many lunchskins to order. Silly, I know, but I’d like to make sure I get enough in one order. Can you make a suggestion based on your lunch making experience? I’ve got one in kindergarten and one in preschool 2 days a week.
