Happy Earth Day, everyone!
When the kind people at POLYWOOD Furniture contacted us for a fabulous spruce up in our yard, we were more than happy to try out their awesome products. And just in time for spring around the tropics of Alabama.
We’ve wanted Some adirondack chairs forever to add to our back yard. So when we heard about their awesome products we were all, sign us up!
When we spied these beauties, we were so excited. They sent us a side table too, and we were thrilled when we saw that it matched the rest of our color scheme perfectly…
Because in my world that’s super important.
Our little model was more than happy to try it out, too.
We have a variety of finishes in our back yard, and they’ve taken quite a beating under that merciless monster of a pecan tree… {we call her Bertha}.
From metal to wood, it’s hard to keep stuff clean. So to change it up a bit to pretty little chairs that wipe down easily is kind of a big game changer for us. They arrived in boxes and were easy to put together in a snap… but the very best part that we love the most?
All POLYWOOD furniture is made primarily from post consumer waste that has been recycled. Think milk jugs and laundry detergent bottles. Awesome much?
They’re also corrosive and weather resistant, and perfect for the outdoors. We love our other furniture, but it can be high maintenance since it’s made from wood and metal. (As in, I will have to refinish it soon.) Confession: I always thought the low maintenance options were generic and ugly.
I was totally wrong.
The detail that goes into all the little pieces kind of blew me away. If you look closely, it even has little ridges just like wood. No one knows until you touch it…
And did we mention it’s super comfy?
Another element that we loved about these chairs, is you can do this:
This:
Or this:
If you need me, I’ll be in the back yard… reading my latest book while the kids fight over who gets to sit in the other one.
Right now, POLYWOOD is hosting a fabulous giveaway for two of their adirondack chairs and a matching side table (the winner can choose from 13 different colors! Contest ends 4.30.2014 at 11:59 p.m.) on Facebook. Just click here to enter!

I’m with you – sitting in my adirondack chair, reading a book, sipping a lemonade and hoping nobody finds me and pulls me away!
Now I just need a little tree house of my own!

Those are awesome. I audibly “oohed” at work, when I saw that they are convertible. So cool.

We’ve had similar recycled chairs from LL Bean that have sat out in the elements for 15 years. They still look like the day we got them. They do get dirty and hard to clean after a while. We found the best way to clean them is to hit them with the power washer. Restores them to bright white like nothing else.

That is awesome, Kari! I have to repair these wooden ones, so it’s a refreshing change! ;}

Hi Ashley – Do all the kids in the neighborhood want to hang out in your backyard? It is the best. I love the way you mixed two colors of Polywood for your set of furniture. The white and turquoise goes perfect with your backyard and style. I think the chairs are going to get a lot of use this summer.

Hi, I was wondering if there is a post on your blog that has the floorplans for the playhouse?
Thanks,
Kathryn
