diy letter garland

We’re back today with a quick little how-t0… it’s a project we practically did for free, and it’s perfect for more than just the holidays. Are you ready?

It’s a super simple, DIY letter garland. And it could work for any holiday, birthday or special event you can think of. Just change the wording on a whim!

So I enlarged a font on the computer {See Helvetica Neue Condensed for this one but you can choose any font you like – just expanding it to the size of the paper and selecting fit-to-page for the printing option.)

Cut each letter out. These will be your template. (For letters that are repeated, you only need one for a template) Then I placed it on parts of a cardboard box that I literally had in our garage.

I took a pencil + traced, then busted out the old trusty X-Acto + cut. You can be more precise than I was, and finish off the insides of a letter, like “B” but I loved the modern look it gave, so I left it. {Read: I was lazy and it worked.}

I then took each letter outside, and quickly spray painted it with Krylon’s gold paint… but you could use any of your choice. Adding it to a piece of twine with clothespins + tada! Instant decor made from things around our home = loads of personality + practically free = winning.
