Puppy love.
I went back to try and find a few photos to procure for this post, and I was not-so-regretfully sucked into a time warp of sweet chubby baby legs and tiny pigtails with dirty graham cracker faces. Sprinkled with a forever obsession of bandaid assortments and dirty lovies, I probably spent a good two hours laughing and crying over sweet memories and precious moments, captured in an instant. To be cherished forever.
Sometimes, I look back at our lives, and wonder what on earth has happened to the years. Where did they go?
It’s true what they say: Don’t. Blink.
Every moment in our lives, has something undeniably special about it. No matter what the phase or stage, there’s a lot to be said about cherishing it for what it is: A true gift.
If there has been one constant for our family, it’s been this wonderful, crazy, amazing dog.
She was our “first child,” adopted from the local shelter. She was there the day we brought Aiden home from the hospital.
And she’s been best friends with our children.
There was a special bond, from the beginning. A part of our lives… a precious constant.
As our family grew, so did her love. She’s an important member of our family.
Sometimes I feel like dogs are here for little reminders of how we should strive to be amongst the sometimes overwhelming ‘rat race’ of humanity. They’re here to teach us so much.
Where we lack or what we struggle with, they seem to have an abundance.
Patience. Kindness. Unrelenting, unconditional love.
It’s a crazy glorious thing… like little angels, not of this world.
And they carry a bond that one can never replicate or replace. They are the embodiment of genuine authenticity.
I think the world could stand to be a little more like dogs.
I think my life could stand a little more deliberately chosen happiness. And naps.
She’s a precious gift.
Again, with the forever patient. :}
