Hello all you wondermous people!
I thought I’d start out today with a little design confession on my part {and of course, some eye candy.} I’ve kind of secretly been itching to redo a bathroom. Okay. Maybe even my own. When I say redo, I mean I want to gut the sucka out and go crazy. But since my own is (maybe) not in the near future, I thought I’d settle for a little inspiration board action. These are a few concepts, ideas, and products I wouldn’t mind throwing into my own rooms, and I thought a few of you might enjoy a little inspiration today.
2. Starting out of order, as usual, it only seemed appropriate to start with the wall color and tiling. Two seemingly simple elements that could make a huge wow factor in any space. And the real backdrop for the rest of the design. This one decorative tile, I’d probably use as a border, and pair with some basic white subway tiles to a height of about halfway up the room. I’d coat the rest of the walls with this fabulous blue, and I’d love to see the floors in this funky, surprising moroccan shape.
1. + 8. I know I’m revisiting the idea, but this branch chandelier rocks my world, and brings an unpredictable elegance into the space. I love the idea of it in a bathroom. And because a bathroom, IMHO can never have too much light, I love this lighting as a great secondary ceiling fixture {perhaps in the water closet. Yes, I am from the south, and I did just write water closet.} This sconce in the middle of two mirrors would really rock the space. It repeats the branch effect of the first chandy, and brings in quite the punch of color. {They come in other options than that wonderful turquoise!} I. Die.
3. Random, but oh so essential: so many showers come a-la snoozefest standard today, that I’m in love with this shower head...especially the rain-like effect it would have when installed. Ideally, I’d love to have it in one of those showers that come with a little less to clean: this site bathrooms.com also has some great wet room screens to make that happen…anyone else hate cleaning framed shower glass? Bane. Existence. A great bathroom definitely needs the essentials.
10. while we’re discussing fixtures, um, how about………. claw footed bathtub swoonfest much? Talk about the pièce de résistance.
4. + 9. I know this isn’t a kid’s bathroom. But maybe sometimes I’m glad I have kids so I can pull it off. I’d be all, “silly kids. always leaving their tissue box lying around” when people come over and want a bathroom tour. Because people request bathroom tours all the time.
And this also is not a living room. But the idea of putting this in your bathroom makes me smile. I’ll be all lounging and stuff in my awesome claw footed tub {see above} and people will walk in, and I’ll be all, ‘hey y’all!’ When in reality, I’d be squealing like a ten year old and scrambling for a towel, and the victim who unintentionally wandered in would be all, “My eyes! My eeeeyyyyyeeeeesssss!” Okay. I took it too far. But the sign would certainly make me smile in the mornings. Almost like the walls are talking.
5. The most incredible rug in the whole entire world. Bonus: I can still see my awesome moroccan tile. {I also fell in love with it without looking at the price.}
6. + 8. I’d love to have a plethora of pops of color in these amazing turkish towels. Oh how my love affair with stripes continues…and piled high in this ridiculously awesome hamper. Yes. Totally practical. This ladder would be some total eye candy.
7. I love the idea of a unique piece transformed into a sink. I would do something different than that dresser piece, but The basic idea would be very simple to recreate. Topped off with that classic, tilting, rectangular mirror is a win. It reminds me of my grandmother’s medicine cabinet.
So there we are. A fun little bathroom combo and some eye candy for you guys.
What’s your favorite element? What’s the one element or item in your bathroom that you just can’t live without? I hope you have an inspired day!

While not all of your picks are my cup of tea, several of them are EXACTLY what I need right now. We’re actually gearing up for a total gut of our main bath (demo scheduled for Monday!), and I’m up to my eyeballs in tile samples and pluming diagrams!

So great!!! I was just wondering the aisles of Home Depot this morning with my boys dreaming of ways to redo our bathroom. Don’t know when it will happen, but I can still dream, right? Thanks so much for the inspiration! I, too, am a huge fan of stripes and blue 🙂

Oh, I love it! Great inspiration board. I have been in love with those wire hampers for so long…would love to have one, just haven’t been able to find one! I might have to order one up for my b-day maybe. 🙂

We’ve been remodeling our “master” bathroom for over a year and a half(because until this fall we were a one income fam on a tight budget). Well we’re still one a tight budget but the bathroom is almost totally done now and I couldnt be happier!
BM “Stonewall Jackson” paint on the upper part of the walls, original(1860) white wainscoating on bottom half. We ripped out & renovated the original closet, replaced the sink, tub and toilet and put in subway tile. Ive got two diff. shower curtains that I cant decide between(the gray striped one from West Elm and the gray ruffled one from Urban Outfitters.) Wanna help me decide? 🙂

P.S. I totally just put that Hey Y’all sign in my Etsy shopping cart! Ive always said I was born in the North by mistake…cuz I was born to say that phrase:) Love it!

I love the Hey Y’all sign – think I might have to have one for my kitchen and the story about you lounging in the tub when someone stumbles in.

Love all your ideas…and thanks for the shout-out! 🙂
