If you’ve been with us for a while, then you’re probably familiar with our basement drama. It really was a great experience to get rid of the whole serial-killer vibe it had going on. Okay. At this point I’m probably being a tad dramatic. But there were blood stains on the floor, so maybe not {deer skinning anyone?}. And my very favorite part, now that the drywall is up and the tile is down? The fine tuning of it all.
Since we’ve divided the space into different zones downstairs: entryway/entertainment/laundry/studio… we knew we wanted to add doors.
And this is where Artisan Hardware comes in. We made a sweet video of our experience with our very favorite barn door company, and basically, they’ve wowed us again. We’re even including a how-to for all things installation. Here’s our take on all things barn doors and adding a little character in your home:
And in case you’re curious, just a few more sneak peeks.
Rigby and Fitz totally approve.
And a quick peek at the back… this wood is smooth as butta, y’all.
We’ll have better shots of this gloriousness coming soon, when the space is finally put together, but I’m loving the blue with the wallpaper vibe we have going on. As we mentioned in the video, we’ve done a lot with barn doors in our home before, but these have an amazing wow factor that you just can’t beat.
Don’t you love how much fun character it adds to the space?
Who would’ve known we’d go from this:
To this?
We have a few more pieces to add, but can’t wait to share the final space. The barn doors just really brought it to life! Be sure to take a look at the fabulous Artisan Hardware here!
And in case you’re curious… more info on barn doors {and our work with Artisan Hardware} can be found in our archives, here!
Have an inspired day!

You never disappoint…the doors look amazing in the space. Love the color. Rigby and Fitz look nice against the color, too.

Love, love, LOVE your door! The color is soooo beautiful. We also used Artisan Hardware a few years ago to add double barn doors to our new bedroom. We actually had our builder make our doors for us but we purchased all of the hardware from Artisan. Their delivery was so quick we couldn’t believe it. We really love the quality work and the fact that they actually slide so well. Not all hardware is created equal. ;o) We were thinking about adding them to an opening we have in an upstairs bedroom that has an opening that overlooks our main living space in the house. I thought I wanted to have it match our other doors but now that I see your blue ones I may just have to rethink that idea.
