Hello lovely people! Today I thought we’d share a fun wreath I put together over the weekend.
I was craving a little festivity on our pantry door, and decided I’d round up a few things we already had around the house to make it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
We had some extra jute wrapped wire from this project (read the how to, here-I found it quite relaxing to make + I love the way it embellished the wreath) a few boxwood shrubs in our back yard + one of those (I don’t know the official term) wreath thingies you can find in your local craft store. If you don’t have a boxwood shrub, you can also find their branches in the florist department. We had some wire to secure the branches to the wreath, some red ribbon, MDF, your letter of choice, white paint + of all things, some Scotch Duct Tape.
I trimmed a few pieces from our shrubs, and secured them with the wire in various areas on the wreath form, working around until we achieved our desired fullness. In retrospect, green wire would be better but I was rolling with what we had. ;} For this letter we traced it from a printed template, cut and painted it. (You could also do this easily with cardboard.) When it was dry, I cut our Scotch Duct Tape into thinner strips, and created some fun stripes.
To secure the ribbon we first cut one long piece, attached it to the door with some hot glue (it will peel right off) and looped it around the wreath section (also securing the end to the back) with hot glue. We then cut one short piece, extending it from the back of the wreath to the back of the letter. After all of that hot gluing, we were finito!
TADA!
A fun bit of festive for our kitchen corner. I love the contrast of pretty natural elements with fun glossy tape and ribbon!
As usual, if you try it, let us know! Gotta love thinking outside the box with some Scotch Tape.

My favorite part about this? That you made it from what you had around the house. I’m off to snoop around my actual yard to see if we grow boxwood! Shame on me for not knowing.

Nice job on using what you have! I just realized that I have this beautiful, red berry holly bush outside my house. They need to be made into some holiday décor item for the house!
