If you’ve been reading here for a while, you’re probably totally aware that we have two giant dogs who fully enjoy all the benefits of being full-time Mills family members. They’re like built-in entertainment, and our home just wouldn’t feel like a home, without them.
People ask us all the time how we keep our house clean with two 70-pound {yes, you read that right} furbabies running around. We know that having our dogs inside is a little bit of a sacrifice. In fact, when we made the move to our new home and then renovated the entire thing, a few {well-meaning} people asked why we would bring them inside. You’re either reading that last sentence clutching your pearls like me {duh, why wouldn’t we bring them in?!} or nodding your head in agreement.
It’s simple, really. Our dogs are a part of our family. They’re also our therapy. Their antics and snuggles far outweigh the mess-factor. We’d miss out if they were outside. And honestly, it’s something you don’t realize you’re missing out on until you’ve experienced it. I could tell you about the ins and outs of their charming personality, the practical security benefits of having two large dogs, the fact that our children have benefited in ways we don’t even realize yet, and how they’re like living comfort blankets all day long.
That’s just for starters.
But really, forget the lists: it’s because we love them.
We adopted Rigby and Fitz and love that we were able to give them a home… but we know they really rescued us.
So one of our very favorite things to do for anyone getting a new pet for their home, or even thinking about diving in, is to introduce them to the world of Swiffer. It’s a game changer for the messes that are sure to come. We know that can be a hold up for some people ready to dive in, and we love helping them through that rough patch of adjusting since we know they’re so very worth it.
From newbies getting their first pet to experienced families like us on their second time around the block, it’s a dependable go-to that we use all year ’round.
Yes, pets are messy. Yes, dogs shed. Yes, they’re a lot.
But Swiffer is at the top of the list to handle life’s messes, so you can benefit from a few less headaches.
And a lot more snuggles.
So to answer the question about how on earth we keep it manageable? Our major go-to’s that make it easy, are the Swiffer Duster and Swiffer Sweeper. Since fur is a major issue with Rigby and Fitz {they wouldn’t be oh so soft without it} we’re able to dive right in and take care of the messes so that we can get on with life. They trap the fur and make it manageable. And the Sweeper Dry and Wet Pet Refills {with Trap + Lock + Febreze Odor Defense -it smells so fresh!} takes care of all those footprints they like to track inside. Because if we’re keeping it real, that also happens, amongst other things.
Swiffer is available at all major retailers so be sure to check them out on your latest Target run after you hit that dollar spot. Such a simple, but thoughtful gift for someone who just may need a little encouragement this holiday season. The last thing we need is the stress of cleaning right now. We have parties to attend and presents to wrap and fun to have. Messes are officially at the bottom of our list because aintnobodygottimeforthat.
Everything is kinda crazy right now, and the last thing you need to think about, whether you’re adding new addition or entertaining the masses, is the mess of your fur baby.
For the perfect gift idea for the new pet owner, or just something thoughtful to help get through the crazy season right now {and every single day after that} #Dontsweatyourpet this holiday season, with #Swiffer.

RIGHT?! They just don’t know what they’re missing. 😀

I totally understand! My husband & I have been cat parents for almost 44 years! Inside cats. Twelve of them over the years. They last much longer when they live inside. That is where family lives in houses.
And I almost choked myself clutching my pearls. 🙂

They’re so snuggly. I had a bad day earlier this week and I just laid on the rug in the living room and had one snuggled in each crook of my arm. I needed some snuggle vibes. If I had a patronus, it would be my two dogs ;}

Why do they live inside? Why does the sun rise??? Those 2 kiss magnets? Pet people & no pet people will never understand ea other -that’s been my conclusion 4 some time now. I’ve been a single human 4 decades, but I’ve never felt like I’ve lived alone. Yes, I suppose I dust & vacuum more often, but it is so-o-o worth it.
