Hey hey everyone! This is one of those really simple ornaments that I did just for me. I found these amazing old photos of the kids, that I knew I wanted turned into ornaments, in a really simple way. So I gathered some simple supplies, and enjoyed decorating the tree! So much so, that I’m going for round two later this week.
ALL THE PHOTOS. ALL THE SENTIMENT.
They’re so simple, I’m kind of embarrassed to be sharing this, but we thought it was fun and you may want to make your own, too.
Here’s what you’ll need: {some links below may be affiliate to support my photo habit}
• These hanging terrariums
• bakers twine {because it’s way more festive}
• photo paper + a printer + photos of your choice
• scissors or cutting mat + X-Acto
• tape, if you’d like double sided ornaments.
I simply printed our photos out from a little template I made, so that they were all uniform at 2.75 x 2.75 in size. This makes them the perfect fit for these particular terrariums.
If you’d like the template, get it here. You would just open up in photo shop, or any other photo app you may have that allows for layers, and drag your photo over. Crop to allow for a border, print and you’re done!
But if you’re not feeling tech savvy, these smaller polaroid sizes would be perfect too.
And side note: this would make the cutest party favor ever, for guests to make and take.
I went with the first option, because memories.
I mean who doesn’t want a classic screaming santa pic on their tree?
Simply print your photos according to how you want them, and place them inside. Join the two sides with double sided {or looped} tape, if you want two sides.
Since these are technically planters, it’s fun that they’re easily switched out… and you can add more than just the two photos if you wanted.
We love how simple they look on our tree!
So much so, I’m making another round this week. I’d be happy with a tree covered in these. They’re the best. Clearly, I’m excited.
Because some sweet pups of the past, people, places, moments in time… need to be remembered.
Gosh they grow up too fast.
We hope you enjoy this quick little tutorial today, and if you make them… let us know! We’d absolutely love to hear.
Have an inspired day!
