It’s summer.
Glorious summer.
We’re all a little thrown off our usual schedule, because kiddos and well, it’s not the usual schedule.
So if you’re anything like us and faced with a few rainy days in your future, we thought we’d arm you with an arsenal of our favorite crafts to do with them. Because kiddos. They grow up way too fast. And really, sometimes they’re just so much fun. The crafts… not the kids. Those are always fun. Most of the time. Shutting up now.
Here’s a few of our favorite rainy day crafts with kids!
our alphabet sewing card printables are always a hit – get them for free here!
If you’re having trouble getting them to stay in bed at night… try our monster spray. It’s always fun to make this one together!
speaking of imaginations… how bout a little fairy dust in a bottle?
Or a little sparkle slime?
a little on the educational front: geology for kids
these keychains were for teachers – but there’s no reason they can’t also be for kiddos… I’m making some with our kids next week.
these adorable diy heart puzzles to keep little brains working
or our image puzzles here!
marbleized jewelry for kids
Got a little extra space and have bigger ideas? Try out this magnetic chalkboard – you can make it in any size
the best home made play doh {with a dash of intro to color because the designer in me just couldn’t help it}
and a play-doh color wheel
these DIY lollipops are sure to be a hit! Who doesn’t love melting candy into shapes?
and while we’re on the topic of melting… crayons are always a hit. And it’s a great way to clean out those junk drawers.
an indoor s’mores party is always a great idea
an alice in wonderland party {with printables} and no-sew tent
or check out our homemade bubbles + bubble wands for some simple fun with the kids
make your own pinch pots for all that fun handmade jewelry
or little people… because that’s usually what our clay projects evolve into ;}
a super simple greenhouse for kids
make your own tassel necklace
how to make a tooth fairy pillow – please tell me we’re not the only ones who “forget” sometimes?! It may or may not have happened to us last week. {Cue cringe face}
these fun fridge magnets that are super easy
these hot air balloon light catchers
how to make a bouncy ball
and of course we had to include our no-sew teepee if you’re feeling adventurous…
There are more ideas to be found, but we hope this keeps you busy for a bit! Rainy days or not.
Have an inspired day!

So good to see creative thinking being shared with children. I used to be a preschool teacher and it was such an important part of the teaching. Learning is more fun with creativity than straight from books and they will be more attentive and learn better.

Hi Ashley, Anna here, from Brazil. I am delighted by your creativity and intelligence to create handiwork. I have always wanted to do something interesting to use as decoration or even to sell and help my husband in household expenses. But I do not think I have any talent. People ask me to make decorating items for birthday, but I do not have the skill to do that job.
I would have liked to have video courses on handicrafts so that people from a distance, even here from Brazil, could watch and learn.
A hug and greetings
