Because we thought, why not coincide Shark Week with those of us who are ready to plan ahead into the coming school year and all things 2017? Duh.
Jk. We were actually behind because we can barely breathe, but that makes it sound officially important and stuff.
We’ve received the emails, social media messages, tweets, smoke signals, sky writing and morse code. And we’re super thrilled to bring our free planner for 2017 back for anyone and everyone who starts their planning early! {Get your 2016 here!}
We’ll be honest… this year was tough to get it out. We’re drowning in house rehab right now after relocating this spring, and just trying to find our new normal. But we know that this is useful to so many of you, and honestly, it’s also how I survive all the things… it’s kind of crazy how a good planning session with stickers and tabs can just make a gal feel better. We could be in the middle of the zombie apocalypse, and color coded lists can make all things right in the world again.
So here we are!
We didn’t change that much this year from the look of last year, just because 2016 was such a success. We thought that if anyone else was in the process of downloading, we’d like the new version to integrate seamlessly with the old. Insert other clever phrases about reinventing the wheel, here. There are so many endless possibilities for versions to select, we just want you to have it your way, baby. Simply click on the file of your choice + print!
Without further ado, our 2017 planner:

Our lesson planning pages are in three simple formats this year, all of them blank.
1. The first set is formatted for teachers with a homework column:
• Lesson plans floral, • Lesson plans blue lemon drop, • Lesson plans plaid
2. The second set is for anyone working with a single child:
• Lesson planner single child blue lemon drop • Lesson planner single child plaid • Lesson planner single child floral
3. And the third is for multiple children, with a column at the top for additional names:
• Lesson plans multiple kids blue lemon drop, • Lesson plans multiple kids floral • Lesson plans multiple kids plaid
Format them any way you like for your own personal use!
Anyone keeping track of schoolwork at home? We simply printed these out, and laminated them. With their work listed on one side, they can keep up with it during the school year or summer months. From reading to math… It’s helped us help them take initiative.

Our favorite planners/supplies/things that make us happy and keep us organized: (The below are affiliate links and we do receive a small percent of the sale, which helps us provide the planner for free. So thank you in advance for clicking on and checking out these awesome products.)
1. & 2. – The Wilson Jones Binder – Available in multiple colors
3. & 8. – And for an A5 Size, we love this little binder with this hole punch to make our printables customizable – be prepared for these to take a little bit to ship, but they’re worth the wait.
4. These metallic gel pens make for great planner marking
5. We still adore these tabs to easily organize everything in our binders and help us keep our sanity.
6. Clearly, we’re writing instrument addicts: Mircon Pen, Sharpie Pens, and our very favorite mechanical pencil {we’ve been using these for thirteen years and will do so until we DIE.}
7. Paper clips to bind similar pages together, and bring a smile to your face. {Our kids fight over these for school stuff}
9. Washi Tape: To mark off certain days clearly, and remind me of my love of Hello Kitty. Also, it wards off alien zombies.
10. More fun clips, here.

We have slightly different colors and different file selections for 2017. We didn’t diverge much from 2016 so it would blend well if you added to it. We hope you can choose, pick, and enjoy!

And now, just a few always-asked questions:
1. What kind of paper do you print this on? Cardstock is what we love best. It’s probably not the most practical but it makes our planner feel official and stuff. Because planning may just be how we rule the world so that makes it important. It’s great for all things dreaming and scheming, but any will do! The regular size will fit perfectly on an 8.5 x 11 – just click, print, hole punch and use. The smaller size will still fit on a standard sheet, just cut to your preferred (smaller A5 size) and use – Be sure to print these with a crop mark option to make it easier to trim.
2. Can you print this on two sides? I actually use the blank sides for extra sketching space… it’s how I think and a lot of the ideas in my head work themselves onto paper that way. So I prefer the blank sides. But if you want to print on two sides, you can take it to a professional printer, or depending on your printer settings, try to run your paper back through to get it on the next side. This will vary for everyone depending on what they have to work with of the printer variety.
3. Can you tell me how to print on both sides? Unfortunately, this all depends on what route you choose to take and which printer you use. So that makes us about as useful as, well, this answer.
4. How much will this cost to print? How much paper will it use? There are so many options for this, it all depends on you: How many you print at a time, what you decide to print, etc. We would recommend getting a few quotes, but the cheapest option will be at home if you already have a printer. Either way, it’s still cheaper than purchasing one!
5. I don’t see my size. Can you provide my size? We have them available in the two sizes listed. However, you can try resizing it for your printer/computer through various programs like Photoshop, or taking it to a professional. Also, you can just print out one of our sizes, laminate the covers, and have it bound at a local print shop. Plenty of our fabulous readers have done this. We hope these suggestions help!
6. Can I take these to a professional printer? Will I be allowed to print them there? Absolutely. These are free. Just give me the blood of your firstborn We just ask that you respect copyright laws by not selling them ;} Or copying them and passing them off as your own. Or throwing them at our heads. All of these things have happened. Share, and enjoy!
7. How did you create these? I am a graphic designer by trade, so the files were created in Adobe Illustrator. Then moved to PDF format in Photoshop to prepare them for our site.
8. Why are all of these in separate files? Options, Options, Options.
This makes them easier for us to manage on our end, and as the years go by, easier for you to download. Each year {don’t worry, we will also have one for 2018 available by next summer} will come with different features, and it helps to pick and choose what you want to add to your own personal collection as you go. (Also, we’re human and will make mistakes. We will be shocked if there is not a single edit that needs to be made.) So this makes for easy quick fixes as soon as we’re notified, depending on the file. Whoops. I’ve officially over explained myself.
9. Can you print this out, prepare it, and mail this to me? no.
10. Regarding additions, changes, personal preferences for color, suggestions, questions and complaints:
We really do hope that you enjoy our free planner. We will definitely consider changes for the future, and appreciate friendly suggestions. We take those to heart each year and make thoughtful changes to the design. Thank you so much for those!
Please bear with us while we explain… Unfortunately, personal preferences will be different for everyone. We know that some people don’t like turning their planner to the side for the monthly view, because it’s hard. And some people don’t like the colors because they give them headaches. And some people think we’re idiots. We know, because we have received these actual messages over a free planner. Wheeeeee!
This was a planner made from scratch and original designs which adds up to days of work. If we tried to meet every single demand, we would never be able to play with our children. Let alone feed them. ;} At some point, we have to have boundaries. So it kind of is what it is. We know we can’t please everyone.
The options seen are the ones that are available. There are a ton of options here. The entire thing is over 90 files total, for a lot of fun choices at your fingertips to create from the choices available with what you like, best. All of that said, please feel free to not download the planner, if it doesn’t meet your needs. We know that this is not for everyone.
Thank you so much in advance for your understanding. If you’re still reading this, you the real MVP.
Thank you so very much for stopping by, and please enjoy + share!

As always, let us know if you use them! We’d love to hear. Have an inspired day!
I have been dying to get my hands on this. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You’re the most amazing women ever! Jamin is so lucky! You’re my idol. Can you tell I’m a little excited? Seriously though thank you for all the hard work! We appreciate it.
HAHA! So glad you can use it, Aimee! Enjoy! ;}
Thank you so much! I live in Kenya and there is not a lot of options to buy good planners here unless you order them online from foreign countries which makes it very expensive. As a high school student, this is going to help me so much with staying on track next year š Keep up the great work
Thank you SO much, again!! I was crossing my fingers you’d spread your planner love again, but knew you were up to your eyeballs with your house. Much love to you and wishes for a return on you of your generosity.
Awe so glad you can use them Ann! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
Thank you thank you! I was actually just getting around to printing out the Sept -Dec for 2016, and this has come at a most opportune time!
I really wish you would do a 5.5 x 8.5 size in these!
Ashley- please see our comments above regarding sizes. While it’s absolutely impossible to make everyone happy, you could shrink this one down or just change sizes. ? Have a nice day!
Love the planners — in the past I have the previous sets. I like the range of colours — 2015 bright, and the newer pastels. I print the pages onto 100 gsm paper, and then have them wire bound at Staples, with the cover laminated.
Thanks for sharing this for free, as we have sometimes been short of cash, and resources like these are a Godsend. I pray that you will receive back the kindness you have shown in posting this original work on your site.
Thank you once again for a pretty and practical planner! Your timing is impeccable- honestly, you made my day! So excited to print & plan ahead for a busy year at home and work.
Ha! Love your comments!! Thanks for taking your time to do these for free. I wish I was as crafty and organized as you!
Wow I just got through making a planner for the rest of this year using the 2016 designs, and today I find the 2017 up already. Great excuse to start making next year’s planner! I had so much fun creating my planner, especially since I’m new to planning and was looking for an affordable way to dive into it. I think I’m hooked! Thank you for creating these beautiful pages.
I also just finished blogging about my planner (with pics) and included a link to this site for anyone who wants to try it out. I don’t have an Instagram but I’m thinking of creating one just so I can show off my planner! Thanks again.
You go girl!!! SO glad you can use it it! Thanks so much for sharing – you did an awesome job! ;}
I seriously need to print yours this year so I know I’ll be completely happy and have all the pages I need. I did notice that you left out a link/comment for #8 because I was wondering what that thing was. š
Nevermind! I see it’s up with #3!
So beautiful! I bought the tabs last year from your list and they’re my favorite now too. š
These are beautiful and perfect and exactly what I need for a planning meeting this week! Thank you so much!
Hi there Ashely, really Love your 2017 Planner sheets. I have just printed a set of regular for my 8×11 Planner and a set for my A5 planner. Thank you so much for your hard work. You are very talented. Keep up the terrific work and ideas. Looking forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve for 2018. NO RUSH!
HAHA so glad you can use them, Lori!
I’m a homeschooling mama who loves pretty things and organized plans. I look forward to and appreciate your free planner SOOOOO much!
Any chance an attendance sheet is in the works? I had a great yearly record on one page, but no file to update dates š thanks for this amazing resource!
Once again – Thank You! I am a return user and love the colors and patterns. January 2017 full size blue drops has the wrong days, FYI.
Dear me…this is what happens when kids help. January is correct, we were looking at June!
These are beutiful pages. Thank you so much for sharing these. I was just wondering what size they are suppose to be printed in? I’ve tried printing a few and they are all about a 5×7 size when I choose to print them on the 8×10 or letter page. Are they scaled smaller?
Thank you,
Sylvia
You are awesome!! Thank you SO much for this wonderful, generous offer of your talent and time. I purchased a planner last year, but haven’t used it like I thought I would so I didn’t want to shell out as much cash this year. Needlesstosay, this is the perfect option! I LOVE all the different page options you gave us as well. So many different patterns and color choices. Thanks again and remember, haters gonna hate! But we choose Joy!
Wow this is so thorough and beautiful!!!
Thank you for including pages for homeschooling. That’s not something I see in many planners. It will be nice to have everything in one planner versus having to buy a 2nd one to track schoolwork.
This is gorgeous!!! It’s so complete. There are lots of things included that I would have never thought about.
This is so pretty and you have thought of everything to include in this planner. Thank you!
I think you have created the perfect planner! As much as I love tech, I prefer paper planners.
These pages all look great and I was hoping to download some – I was able to download one page from the 2016 planner, but I am having trouble getting the links to work! I’ve tried in Chrome and Firefox but still having the same issues. Crossing my fingers the issue gets resolved so I can download additional pages š
