If you’ve been reading for a while then you may know that we took the leap this year, and decided that after three years of home school, we would mainstream again. We need up sending the kids to a great school near us for something new. {I’m never quite sure how to word all that, but if you’re curious as to why the change, we wrote a little about it here.}
We were in an apartment this past fall when we started, trying to finish up our not-so-little full house renovation. It was crazy.
A few people have wanted to know how this year went. While we had a few rocky starts because transitions are hard, in short, it’s the best thing that ever happened to us. It was the right choice for our family and we are so grateful we sent them back to such an amazing school. Three cheers for good choices that work for you and your family, no matter what that may look like.
Something we’ve noticed this year, is that as a policy at the school, teachers are not allowed to hand out info on other kids. Which we totally get. This just makes things like summer playdates and birthdays {both our boys’ are in the summer, and Emerson wanted an un-birthday since her birthday is in January and because pool} a little harder to plan.
So we decided to come up with these little slips, that the kids could take to school, and give to their friends.
The idea is that their friends can take it home {discreetly} and share with their parents. Who may then cut and fill out the other side of the card, while keeping our info from the other, and send it back.
So we liked our little idea, and decided you may be able to use it, too.
We decided to include a blank version, with lines, {no worries – the personal info above on ours in the photo is incorrect} just in case.
Helpful Hints:
• You can fill it out by hand on your side, or take the file into photoshop, and insert the info there to print out many.
• We told our kids to be super sensitive, and discreet. {aka the other child should take it home to fill out with their parents, etc.} But, if someone sees them, be sure to hand one to them, also. Because the more the merrier, in our book. Heck, hand them out to the entire class. We never want anyone to feel badly about phone numbers and trading info.
If you’d like the little cards because they may be useful for you, be sure to get them here { stay in touch cards}! Just click + print, or download + take into photoshop to insert your own info, there.
We hope this helps- We know every school policy is different, but this is just a little something to make summer a bit more fun with friends!
