It’s that time of year, where we all start to mark things off our list.
And then check them twice.
There are parties and gatherings and all things holidaisical with all of our favorite people. It feels a little bit magical.
Things are feeling warm and fuzzy and we’re gathering more with fave friends and family.
Everything just feels happier, really. There’s something about these festivities that we truly do love. Even if sometimes, it takes a little effort to make them happen.
I’m looking at some of our favorite images from our home at Christmas last year. Our new home now, is barely put together just yet. There’s something kinda fun about that, too.
{PS – we decked the kiddos’ space, but I think we’ll keep it simple by just getting a tree this year.}
We’re still living in a bit of a crazy situation with an unfinished basement… with lots of things on our to do list {waiting on codes and septic}. It can be easy to forget about the most important element of all: safety. But it’s one thing we need to think about… and it’s something we sometimes forget when it comes with the hustle and the bustle and crazy fun of it all.
Safety, is at the top of our list this year.
It can be easy to get caught up in the moment, and forget about the little things. Are those stairs okay for little kiddos at a party? Is everyone keeping tabs on what’s going on?
What about… laundry packets?
I must confess, it’s not something we would have thought of, until we started working with the American Cleaning Institute.
It’s time for holiday entertaining, and we want to talk a little bit again about that cause that’s important to us. We know as a parent, it’s our number one job to keep little ones safe. If we can help spread the word to one family and prevent a tragedy, then it’s totally worth it. Because it only takes a split second for lives to change.
We’ll be having younger children to our home more and more this season as we spend time with loved ones. And it’s something we need to remember… especially since it can be the little things that you sometimes have to consider.
So we’re teaming up again today with the American Cleaning Institute to remind everyone about the importance of laundry safety and keeping the home a safe place. A topic we hope everyone shares a common passion for. If you aren’t a parent, you still need to read up, especially if you plan on having little guests to your home this holiday season:
Liquid laundry packets are amazing, but are also highly concentrated and should always be stored up high in a safe location, away from children.
Accidents involving young children and liquid laundry packets are continuing to occur.
The American Cleaning Institute conducted a consumer survey and found that 61% of parents are storing detergent packets in-sight and in-reach of young children.
This is something we didn’t even think about, until we heard about what’s happening.
Today is just a little refresher on things we want you to know.
- Put those liquid laundry packets up and out of the way. It’s best that they’re kept up high, just like any other cleaning product, and out of reach so that little kiddos aren’t even tempted. Locking them up and out of the way when little ones start exploring is really the best way to ensure they don’t get their hands on them.
- Make them impossible to access by your children. You never know what they can get into. It’s a great thing to stay diligent in your home.
- Download ACI’s fun activity sheet for educating little ones on what is safe to play with in the home. It’s a good idea to go over it with them, to help them understand. It’s important to never take anything for granted.
- To review the basics, this is a quick tips poster here to help spread the word.
- The American Cleaning Institute is making it easy to help inform others. You can take ACI’s KEY Pledge to a safe laundry room and routine, to be automatically entered into a sweepstakes to win a $2,500 gift card for a laundry room makeover!
- The more your friends and family know, the better. So share it all, wherever you can!
We truly hope this helps spread the word, to keep little ones safe in the home.
