Hello all you wonderful people! It looks like fall fever has begun to hit us over here, and rather than whole heartedly embrace all the pumpkins right away, we always like to integrate colorful touches here and there. It is gathering season, and we can tell that a change is in the air with the slightest little delightful drops in temperature, which is actually getting us excited. We’re thrilled to celebrate our friend Courtney’s latest book release by hosting a little tablescape hop today with some of our favorite sites!
If you haven’t laid eyes on her book yet, it’s absolutely breathtaking, per usual. It’s called French Country Cottage Inspired Gatherings, and we absolutely love it.
Courtney’s book is full of color and inspiration and oh so amazingly fun. The perfect gift for someone special or just yourself this fall!
Check them out here, and scoop one up fo yourself!
So we thought we’d pull together a pretty little tablescape, inspired by her beautiful book, for when we actually can really gather again. But in the meantime, we’ll certainly enjoy savoring all the wonderful ideas.
Because they’re breathtaking.
This table in our back room is one of my favorite places to host gatherings. We finished it last year just in time for all things seasonal fun.
It’s the longest table in our home, holding ten spaces for place settings, which means it’s perfect for all things larger groups and dining. We also love it, because the kiddos can sit in another space, or we can mix it up however we like… all depending on who’s over. Lately, we’ve been enjoying it as a family and that’s just as important, too.
One of my favorite things to do is play with color and texture by bringing in different elements and layering in effortless ways.
I don’t really have ten of anything, but it’s an awesome way to cheat my way through, and make it look intentional!
So don’t worry if you don’t have all the “right pieces”, or the “perfect set up”.
My biggest tip, is to fake it.
This isn’t your mother’s table circa 1990 when things had to match. I’m glad our culture has changed for beautiful vintage options and we can basically make up the rules as we go. Maybe that’s not what other people do, but I certainly do. Courtney’s book inspires doing your own thing, for sure.
You never know what you can accomplish by alternating layers, and playing with different combinations.
I also love a good combination of flowers from the grocery store and the remnants of our summer cutting garden. Simple.
It was a really fun way to bring in layers of interest and color.
I tend to collect old wine bottles, vases and fun pieces of glass which can easily come together to make really simple centerpieces for a bold statement. They’re oh so pretty.
We also love bringing it to life with different vintage goblets for more layers of interest. We feel that it’s a table that invites!
There’s a fine balance between inviting and beautiful. We think it’s great to do both, but leave the pressure at the door.
It’s all about encouraging great conversation and honest to goodness time spent with lovely people, that make the heart happy.
Jus talking about it all has me longing for normal days so very soon. #Wrapitup, Covid.
I guess when all this is over, we’ll just cherish the things we once took for granted, all the more. I know I already do.
All the color.
This is my version fo fall.
So here’s to all things fall weather, and doing what makes your soul happy.
We hope that no matter where you are, you’re having a safe and happy beginning of the fall season!
So be sure to check out Courtney’s beautiful book for a ton of inspiration and lovely images. You’re going to love it.
{Also, I just want to dive into this photo and enjoy a scrumptious brunch-my absolute favorite!} And now I want to plan a brunch. Which is the point. Grab the book. You’ll love it. She’s so amazingly talented, this book is dripping with yummy colorful inspiration.
So be sure to check out our other friends who are participating in this fabulous tablescape tour in the name of celebrating our sweet friend’s book release!
