I tend to hold on to summer, squeezing out that final drop of golden goodness until it fades slowly into fall. And then {when, to be honest, I feel like I can no longer use my pool, which takes a minute since we’re in the south and it’s heated} I’m ready to let go. I embrace it wholeheartedly and want to relish in it, too. I’d say I’m not eager to rush any season out the door, unless it’s winter, of course. That’s when I turn into a big fat hypocrite, because I’m ready for perpetual cloudy days to leave. But I thought I’d celebrate the upcoming weekend today, with a jewel toned fall tablescape!
There’s just something about a fun table, set for fall!
As much as I love a well-set table for gathering, this room usually looks like my actual art studio. It’s covered in oil paints and stained glass. The kiddos actually get a little irritated with me. So when I dress it up for fun, they appreciate it more. I guess that’s a part of my master plan.
So today I thought I’d share a little inspiration for a jewel toned fall tablescape. Because it’s so fun to bring in deeper colors and metals and jewel tones for a colorful array with a fun look.
A few weeks ago, we shared the cheater’s guide to an easy fall tablescape. You can find most of my hard + fast ‘rules’ {and by rules, I mean me breaking them} there since they apply here, too!
From layering with various setting spaces, to not stressing over where anything goes… the same tips apply. It’s just fun to dress up a table and have fun with it.
And nothing can beat a good vintage goblet or two, to really strike a vibe. We adore the colors they bring in here!
The look for this autumn table was pulled together just by shopping my house. To be honest, we will never move because of my sheer obsession with styling props and art supplies… so I understand not everyone has the same stock at home.
But it’s fun to look around and see what you can come up with!
Also, let it be noted here that nothing is expensive that we used. 1. I don’t have to spend a lot of money to make it one of a kind with those layers and 2. I don’t have to worry that anything will be broken.
Around this time of year, it’s also great fun to bring in natural elements that play well with your color scheme.
I purchased these runners from Target on clearance a year ago, and then brought in the accent colors with eucalyptus leaves, tangerines, pomegranates and blueberries. Yes, we ate them all, even the pomegranates later.
Top it all off with a comfy place to sit, and no one will want to leave!
On second thought, maybe I should string up my “Please leave by 9” banner, too.
I purchased these last year, but there’s something so fun about faux pampas grass! I think these are slightly different colors than the ones they have now, but they’re so great for creating instant drama at a table. I love using them seasonally for fun creations!
I know it’s officially fall and everyone has Halloween on the brain right now, but there’s just something about a nicely set table to get the holidays started!
I just love a good old fashioned eye candy post.
