It’s officially only a month until Fall, which means cooler weather is coming in the realm of all things yard work. Happy dance! Jamin is even spending a little extra time with what he claims as the best lawn edger ever.
It’s the little things that keep him happy.
kids pitching in
And we’re not quite ready to let go of all things summer! We’re just not there yet. Everyone loves pumpkins and cooler weather. While we don’t mind that, I think we like to hold on to what we had. Our kids feel a little older. Things are going a little faster. The transitions are just too quick for us and we like to relish in it a little. And…
Because the leaves are starting to fall… ALL. THE. LEAVES.
One thing we haven’t minded about them getting older, is that they can help a little with the yard work! One year Jamin tricked the boys by telling them rakes were cool and buying them some. That lasted a hot second until they realized they then had to do something with all the leaves they’d gathered into a pile, other than jumping into them.
This year, it’s a little different.
We’ve been sharing about the fabulous Greenworks for a while, and how they’re the perfect tool to help train the kids in all things yard work. Really a game changer.
We also learned recently they are the official sponsor for the 50th anniversary of Earthday! How cool is that! You know because global warming really is a thing. {BTW have you seen this piece by Dr. Sanjay Gupta? Great food for thought.}
I’ll stop squirreling now because today we wanted to share something new in our arsenal that is kind of a game-changer for all things yard work: the Greenworks lawn edger!
lawn edger benefits
{Side note: did you know that one Greenworks battery lasts as long as a tank of gas?)
See Exhibit A: Our front door sidewalk. This is what your yard looks like when you ignore the outside for so long. Our attentions have clearly been elsewhere. {No judging, it’s been a big job.} Enter the Greenworks lawn Edger.
Having an lawn edger is a lot easier and safer than trying to trim the sidewalks with a string trimmer. And since they work on the same battery, you can switch from the string trim to the lawn edger in like, 3 seconds. And then, even switch to the blower for clean up. No stopping to prime of fill with gas, or spend money on the two-cycle oil and gas.
We love Greenworks because:
• They’re lightweight and battery-powered. They’re friendly to the earth, and we can all use a little more of that.
• This makes the tools accessible to everyone. Because everyone can get involved, kids can actually help with yard work, too. If your kids aren’t helping around the house, are you even parenting? ;}
• All of their designs are corded or battery operated. That means there is no issue for people mixing gas correctly, spillages, or any of the other hassles that come with potentially overwhelming gas-powered tools.
• Hello, low key maintenance…no downtime or expensive mechanic bills.
• They’re industry leaders in safety and are helping rewrite the policies in this area, for the better.
And not to be a dork, but he doesn’t need ear protection because it’s not loud!
Just one of the many bonuses a-la Greenworks.
To use the lawn edger, he simply lined it up with the sidewalk, and cut off the sides of the grass that had been overwhelming our walkway. Then we did our usual trimming, and of course, blew it all off – all using the Greenworks tools and those interchangeable batteries.
Once it was cleaned off… the front looked oh so pretty and fresh again! Winning.
Now if only we had time to pressure wash… because that’s definitely next on the list!
While the kids love those Greenworks tools, they love the fact that Dad handled this round. {Because he wanted the fun of using the new lawn edger first. Always a kid, or maybe just a true 7.)
What’s your favorite Greenworks tool you’ve tried? We’d love to hear!
Have an inspired day!

So I never comment, but I thought I’d let you know this.
We ended up buying one of the Greenworks blowers for our pool deck and we absolutely love it. As you can imagine, since you have a pool, we always have people over and the blower is always out. Well I think at this point we have converted 7 people to Greenworks products in fact one of our friends just bought like 4 tools.
So thanks for the introduction to them and how cool that they are an earthy sponsor, makes me feel even better about buying their products.
