When these sweet clients contacted us about help with their daughters’ shared bathroom space, we were all in. Sometimes the simplest of spaces are just the very best!
The previous owners of the home had updated this hallway bathroom since the home was initially built, but it was time for an update. Our clients wanted to freshen it up with something new for two growing teens in something that reflected their family.
As always, here’s a shot of that before so you can see how far we’ve come!
We were more than happy to help them say goodbye to that dark grout on the floor, and a suspicious leak to boot.
We love how light and bright it feels now! In a smaller bathroom space, it’s amazing what glass can do to open it all up!
I removed the awesome rug {found by our client!} for some shots, so you can see just how fabulous that floor is. We loved accenting in simple pieces with minimal accessories to polish it all off.
The previous tub was a drop-in, and upgrading it to a walk in shower just makes sense for the space and their teens.
Tile: Jeffrey Court tile for the win!
This is a part of their beautiful designer series, and it’s almost as if the tile is made for this space. We love the way these lines play so well together and contrast so beautifully.
Floors:
For this bathroom, we used Jeffrey Court’s gorgeous Harrisburg Mosaic to finish off the floors. I just love the simple shape combined with natural stone and wood tone look, for a twist on classic.
Walls:
For the walls, we went for easy contrast in their white field tile. It’s simple when it comes to long term maintenance and that classic cohesive look. White subway is always a smart choice for that classic approach to last for years to come.
We especially love this little transition from the bathroom floor, and the shower floor. We love the way it carries so much easy style into the space.
Of course we had to tie it all together with two shower niches to hold all the things. It’s so fun for a little spot of contrast when it comes to adding more of that custom look to the space.
Since we’re in the shower… let’s talk all things Fixtures!
Shower Fixtures
Of course, we had to go with the trustworthy, tried and true Delta!
I mean, who wouldn’t want this jewelry in their bath? This shower head is so large and spectacular, it practically works as a rain head. And since we were working with the existing skylight in their bathroom, this was the perfect solution.
We chose the CASSIDY™TempAssure® 17T Series Shower Trim In Champagne Bronze.
Because their site explains the major pros more than we ever could:
…With separate handles for volume and temperature control, this Delta tub/shower provides a more refined showering experience. Simply set the water at your preferred temperature and turn the shower on or off with the volume control handle – without interrupting your set temperature. Designed to look like new for life, Brilliance® finishes are developed using a proprietary process that creates a durable, long-lasting finish that is guaranteed not to corrode, tarnish or discolor. While other products may gather unsightly mineral build-up over time, Delta soft rubber Touch-Clean® spray holes allow any mineral residue to simply be wiped away for an instantly refreshed look – with no need for soaking or the aid of chemical cleaners. Delta® thermostatic valves use TempAssure® Technology to protect you and your family from sudden temperature changes….
We now have a similar shower head in our own shower, and we have to say… from the finish to rubber Touch-Clean® spray holes – it is so easy to clean. I have another type in some other showers in our home, and they basically stay dirty. I think we can all use a little easy in our lives. Yes, please.
Professionals really love Delta because of their trustworthy guarantee and awesome easy parts to work with. I prefer it because I feel good about recommending an amazing tried and true product to our clients.
We loved pulling this entire look together, even right down to the smallest detail of a matching tank lever.
Faucets:
For the faucets, we continued this look with the Cassidy™ Two Handle Widespread Bathroom Faucet – Low Arc Spout – Less Handles In Champagne Bronze
This line really is perfect for a kiddo or teen bath, since they have the Delta® WaterSense feature. Their labeled faucets, showers and toilets are known to use at least 20% less water than the industry standard. This is a big deal in the land of teens who may not always pay attention to their water usage. {I know ours don’t.} It helps to save water without compromising all things performance.
Vanity:
They also went for a fresh look in the vanity design, replacing this one for something in a warmer wood tone. We’re all about custom designs for our clients but sometimes there are great finds that fit oh so perfectly, and this is one of them. The drawers and doors on the older piece were a little wonky, so they were ready for a change. This find really gave them the new storage they needed along with lots of style, all while flawlessly pulling together that wood tone look with the Jeffrey Court tile. We paired it with some Anthropologie dupes to upgrade the hardware as well, and we have a winner in the land of all things vanities!
Mirrors and Lights:
The bath fixtures and light accessories are like jewelry to a great space, and we loved bringing in these details for their room! Their vanity area got a whole new upgrade as well, with these amazing Kichler lights + mirrors.
Mirrors:
These backlit mirrors from Kichler are just oh so perfect for a shared space with two teen girls. We used Kichler’s Menillo™ Collection 38.5″ LED Vanity Mirror with Etched Glass. What I love about these mirrors, is that with the touch of a hand underneath, they can go from warm to cool tones. They also hold defogging abilities which again, are all so perfect for a teen space.
If you’ve never tried a backlit mirror before, it’s probably the most luxurious thing you can add to your bathroom!
I captured video of the process, but the lights switching from warm to cool with a touch of a hand can be seen with this simple screen shot. We love this transition! Clearly, I was humored.
I think that everyone should know about Kichler’s fabulous mirrors. We currently have one in our own bath in our primary addition {reveal coming oh so soon!} and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it. From using it as a night light to feeling thorough {and flattered, if we’re being honest} when I use it as a mirror… it’s the perfect addition to a bath space. Our daughter is begging us for one.
Vanity Lights:
And of course the crowning jewel to the space: These amazing vanity lights!
We went with the Jasper 16.5″ 2 Light Halogen Vanity Light with Satin Etched Cased Opal Glass Natural Brass.
In short, Jay Gatsby called. He wants his bathroom light back. But he can’t have them because these are straight glamor for your bathroom. And we ADORE them.
Their sweet pup makes the perfect model for this space! I feel like any time we get a chance, we love to have the family pets model their spaces, as well. I’m sure he would happily take up residence here.
We also replaced their old vent with a party light that connects via bluetooth, because everyone needs a partay in the shower.
Just one more before and after to get a feel for the space!
And just a few more details too! We love the way it all came together.
So does this sweet guy.
What are some of your favorites from this space remodel? We love the way it all turned out!
Have an inspired day!
