Hey awesome people. We hope this entry finds you well, and that you had a relaxing weekend. Ours… not so much, as it was filled with (the good kind) of busy: from pirate lego birthday parties, to time with family, and friends, alongside another space installation/wrap up {which I hope to be sharing with you soon…stay tuned-think reclaimed barn wood. SQUEEEEEEEEE!}
But enough with the cryptic sentences: first things first- Congratulations to commenter no. 133: our Vintage Skye Giveaway winner! Way to go, Carolyn! I’m passing your info to Kristi. And a major thanks to all who played. I love doing these and hope you do, too! If you aren’t Carolyn, aka the lucky winner, be sure to play again next time, because I’m sure she didn’t expect to win! Ya just never know. 😉
I’ve decided that much unlike the boy’s room, where I’m all, ‘TADA’ and stuff, with an all-of-the-sudden changeover, our living room will be a bit of a gradual reveal. Don’t worry. I’ll still have the “TA-no-one-cares-about-this-but-me-shut-up-already-DA” moment, {I mean, what’s a room redo without the moment?} Yes, I was the bride who freaked out about what song she would walk down the aisle to. I totally rocked it. But…if you’re bored and have nothing better to do, when all is said and done I’ll still have “the moment.” (Yes, I’m laughing at myself as I type this. We’ve had a bit of a fabric hold up, so stay with us.)
Some of these pieces are just so fun, I can’t help but give you a “Sneaky Peeky” as my ever so talented friend from Tiffany Interiors refers to them, and has done, yet again.
Once upon a time, I had two of these chairs from JC Penney. I ordered them with some Christmas money I had, as I was looking forward to sprucing up our living room. Only when they came, they weren’t exactly what I was expecting. And it was kinda bumming me out. {You know how those photos go. You’re all, expecting taupe and you get gold…stripes…} Needless to say, gold stripes aren’t really my thing, and I didn’t plan on sitting in them in a robe smoking my pipe reading Masterpiece Theatre. So I’d merely been counting the days until I could afford to do something different.
Three years later, that day finally came {read: I sold my leather monsters and decided enough with pipe smoking bachelor’s pad combo.} Tiffany and I put our heads together, and…
TA-SWEETFLIPPINLEMONADE-DAH. {Excuse my language. I’m excited.}
A star {for my living room, anyway} was born.
Tiffany added some fabulous embellishments to this one: from the buttons to the ruffles on that cushion. If you were curious, the fabric on these are actually the opposite of Duncan. The linen and piping are just reversed.
Oh, and this may or may not be an {additional} sneaky peeky of some of the pillows I’ve put together. Thanks to the sale at Calico Corners. But I’ll save the good stuff for later.
Didn’t she do an incredible job? To learn more about the ins and outs and a few of the correct terminologies for this {not so} lil project, be sure to head on over to Tiffany Interiors where she’ll be discussing these chairs and her awesome work today!
Hop on ova! Happy Monday everyone!
