Here’s a smidgeon of my projects in photos lately: and a little bit of what I’ve been working on…
Is it just me, or are these shots priceless? We have a generous friend, who’s into real estate, and closed on a house still full of the late tenant’s belongings, that no one seemed to want. He thought of us, so out of the house we hauled quite a few tables, a china cabinet, vintage sewing machine and record player to refinish. And by we, I mean Jamin and said friend. When he got home that night, he shmoozed another {generous} friend into unloading {HURRAY! I didn’t have to, for ONCE!!!}
naturally, our kids have never seen a record player before. So here they are, staring…quite mesmerized. We thought it was priceless.
We stood over it, for quite some time in attempt to get it to work. It may as well be newfangled to me…
We mused about what our children’s children would be impressed with…CD players?
Being that the items came straight from the person’s home…it was naturally still full of the things belonging to that person. Enter my new record collection, I guess. It kind of bothers me that the family didn’t want it… I think it’s awesome.
But that’s the point about earthly belongings. They’re only temporary…and don’t really matter.
This sober reminder and deep thought were brought to you by Pure + Lovely, and the letter Zoloft.
Love these vintage images.
Of course, as soon as my friend and I found the song “Moon River,” we knew it was meant to play. So on it went, and the vintage tunes we did enjoy.
Anyone know anything about these puppies? It still works, and everything. It came in an awesome little table that we would love to refinish. But we’ll do a little research first…
Meet the noah’s ark of sewing boxes. This little guy has a nice new home with me. I cleaned him up, as well as his insides with the contents.
Yes, I did color coordinate the thread.
It just felt like the right thing to do…to get it all pretty and organized.
I shall never want for sewing supplies, again.
or thread. This is only 1/3 of the thread.
In other news, a very very VERY sweet family I know had some paper dolls that have been handed down in their family throughout the years. They kept what they wanted, but weren’t sure what to do with the rest, so they thought of me. To give you some perspective on this nice little pile, this is only about half of them. Sitting on my dining room table. If only. I’d had them. Six months ago.
It’s where’s waldo with Lucille Ball. Do you see her?
There’s just something about paper dolls…
And the possibilities with these things…from decor in a cool frame for clients…to digital files restored, or even in fabrics reprinted….
are kinda endless.
…And make me ecstatic.
I’m feeling quite grateful to the overly kind and completely generous people in our life. Thank you, sweet friends for your awesome support!
