the handbuilt home : budget-friendly woodworking by ana white

Happy day to all our favorite people!

So we have some exciting news to share with all of you today…we’re practically jumping up and down over here, and we know you’re gonna love it! Our friend, Ana White has written a book! We know this was an arduous, but rewarding process. Writing a book takes a lot of hard work, and we simply couldn’t be more excited for her.

The Handbuilt Home : 34 Simple, Stylish & Budget-Friendly Woodworking Projects for Every Room is a book chocked full of fabulous plans and pretty styling. How much fun is that? It will officially be released in October, but you can even go ahead and pre-order a copy now. I can not WAIT to get my hands on one!

Oh, and there’s something else. See that last photo? Right there? In the bottom left corner? That’s us! Well, not really us. That would have taken some mad blending skillz. And body paint. But we are contributors, and it was a blast. We are really honored to be part of this awesome process, and Ana’s amazing book.

We built this fun piece from Ana’s plans, and were able to style and photograph it.

The great thing about this piece is that it serves double duty. From a console table, to a charming hutch…It can be used in a variety of ways in your home.

We adore this piece, and the character it’s brought to our own home. I actually move ours around quite a bit, and we’ve really enjoyed it. I’m so glad we get to share it with you guys. Great plans, Ana! ;}

If you like our piece, you’re going to love the entire book. It’s going to be wonderful. We can’t wait to see it! Thanks again, Ana, for the fun opportunity. We’re so excited for you!

Have an inspired day, everyone…and let us know when you get your hands on a copy!

    Love Ana’s work! We’re actually about to embark on building the Stratton storage bed from PB based on her plans! We’re so excited to get started. And, btw, LOVE your hutch/console thingy! It looks like a well cared for antique! Nice job!

  6. AAAmazing!!! So beautifully done and I also adore the color :D

  7. Rock on, girl! And Jamin. That wood back on the hutch is gorgeous. It has me all swoony. And I know I’ll totally buy the book. We are actually embarking on an American girl bunk bed from Ana White. Lacey wants to be “in charge” of painting so who knows if it will be rainbow or camo but I will have to go with it. And bite my lip.

    Okay, this is about you, not me. Woohoo!

  8. Wow – what a beautiful piece. And I LOVE the color choice! Ana-white is my hero. I use her plans all the time. We just used one we found on her site to build our new headboard. Definitely adding this to the list of things I want to tackle next!
