big news! {+ option c.}
Hello lovelies – We’re busy soaking up the final days of summer, and if y’all are starting school this week, our thoughts are with you and your littles. ;}
So I’m nervous about this one. I’ve been keeping this little secret for a while, to the point that the only thing I can liken it to is expecting a baby and not telling anyone ’til the third trimester. (No, it’s totally not even close to being the same… stay with me) I totally don’t know what that feels like because I was the loudmouth who was all “Yeah, this is happening” announcing (a very personal decision) by week 8 Because A. I was tossing cookies in the corner for the past four, and B. Because of said tossing cookies, everyone already assumed. Fun. Times. At this point, in the metaphorical blog world, people are all is that a food baby? And I’m all, that is not chocolate cake/pizza/absolute carb happiness residing in my belly. It kicks, yo. This is for real.
But hey, all incessant ramblings with metaphors regarding pregnancy aside, we’re not expecting a baby! So there’s that. What did happen? We wrote this little ebook. (Which at times, truly felt like a bit of a child-expecting kinda process – on a very minor level.)
Handmade Walls has been picked up by an amazing publisher. Along with three others we’ve put together, in a series.
So {deep breath} Four real live books by us, will be released this fall in bookstores + specialty stores, across the nation. Now that the cat is out of the bag, I can go with three options A. This still feels like a dream, therefore it does not feel real… Pinch us. Cue the crickets + denial. B. I’m assuming we’ve been punked by someone famous (I guess Nate Berkus would make it all okay – I may punch Ashton in the throat) or C. We’re about to give birth to a real live book baby. {Or in this case, quads.}
Option C it is.
So you guys are familiar with Handmade Walls. It will be available in book stores and we couldn’t be happier to bring it to you guys in a real live version. For anyone who said you wanted to see it in a printed, we love you. Your coffee tables and bookshelves can now be a little happier this fall with the printed version adorning them. Hurray! + Thank you.
The other three are a curated collection. We’ve always been art lovers, so we can’t wait to bring it to you and introduce you to some of our very favorite artists! Think of them as companion books to Handmade Walls. Now that you’ve created something beautiful for your home, this is a little something to complement it. Collections for eclectic, traditional and contemporary homes. {If you ask us, we adore all three, and they will all work in different ways, which is the beauty of said series.} Here, you’ll find prints of original artwork by up and coming amazing artists, alongside some of our own art in print form… just for you. Keep them in book form or tear them out and adorn your walls with beauty. It’s a win win.
In short: We’re feeling very blessed, overwhelmed, and downright queasy (see: Ashley) about it. With this little website, it was our hope to connect with others. To empower + inspire people who simply want to create a haven for themselves and make their home truly theirs. We’re just kinda thrilled you guys read… sometimes we have to remind ourselves that its more than just my Sister in Law (Hey Cristin!) reading. Did you know that our proudest, most exciting moments are when you guys shoot us an email with something you’ve made? Or tell us that you’re excited about something? We simply hope these books are another inspirational avenue for that. A chance to encourage others to use these as a fun resource for their own homes.
