I was double checking myself when writing this post, because the challenge if you will, was to create a fun spring project. I love all things Easter, with all the colorful spring vibes. So it only made sense to do an Easter tablescape. But I had to check the calendar to see if it was even close enough first. Clearly, we’re excited over here.
But today I wanted to share how to make these adorable bunny ear napkin rings!
Because they add a whole new element of cute to your table.
So many fun colorful swirls for your table.
We even combined this little tablescape with our fun marbleized easter eggs, too!
But they’re really easy to make. Here’s what you’ll need:
• bunny ear napkin rings
• basic medicine cups
• acrylic paints in a bottle {ready to pour is a bonus, but any will do}
• toothpicks
• protective surface -drop cloth, etc.
We mixed up a few variations of this, but wanted lighter pastels as our final product.
So we started with the majority of white, and added colors as we went.
Because there wasn’t a lot of surface area for colors to mix, as with a large pour, we went ahead and stirred it a few times with a toothpick to mix up the colors.
Then we carefully poured it over the bunny ear napkin rings.
Manipulate the paint with your toothpick to swirl it around on top until it’s filled in.
You’ll repeat this on the second side of the napkin rings, once the first side is dry. So the trick is not to let the paint get underneath. {This is why a drop cloth helps because you can move them around, and the cloth underneath hopefully dries quickly.}
Once the second side is mostly dry, fill in the missing parts on the sides by moving your toothpick around to fill it in.
Tada! Once they’re dry, you’re done!
Simply pull a napkin through, and set your spring table.
Such a fun little project to bring in spring!
Because spring is my favorite.
And it’s oh so close.
Maybe I can just keep sending photos to mother nature and she’ll take the hint?
Anyway, happy crafting everyone. If you make one, we’d love to see!
And don’t miss our friends’ awesome creations!
